MATCHDAY #3 LADY VOLS ⚽️ Thread: Next Up ‘Texas A&M’ 7pm @Regal Stadium(Admission is Free)

Lady Vol commit Jayla Blue with 3 more goals.

So at the HS level, how is Jayla scoring? Is she just dribbling through defenders to take short, angled shots? Is she out-racing defenders on long fast breaks? Is she controlling strong lateral passes in the box?

What's her greatest strength, and what apects of her game are NCAA-ready?

--asking for a guy who should still be asleep!

She does it all.

In December Jayla played in the ECNL Selection Game, which is an allstar game of the best players in the country.

You see two of her goals in this clip, she is #17 in red.

KNOXVILLE – The Texas A&M soccer team continues SEC action with a road trip to face the No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers in Friday's 6 p.m. match at Regal Soccer Stadium.

The Aggies are facing their fourth top 25 team in the last five matches. Texas A&M has narrow defeats at the hands of No. 4 TCU (2-1) and No. 10 Arkansas (1-0) and a 3-0 loss to No. 24 Georgia.

Bella Yakel has played all 900 minutes to lead the Aggies. The center back entered the campaign as the most seasoned Texas A&M player, having accumulated 4,132 minutes during her three seasons at Portland. The senior defender has 67 Division I camps on her résumé, including 59 starts.

Freshman Riley Crooks is not far behind, starting all 10 matches on the A&M backline. The Huntington Beach, California, native ranks second on the squad with 874 minutes played and she has logged one assist.

Leah Diaz leads the Aggie offense with 10 points on three goals and four assists. Trinity Buchanan and Kaylee Noble have eight points with three goals and two assists apiece.

Among SEC opponents, Tennessee has been one of the Aggies' toughest nuts to crack. The Volunteers own a 7-3-0 edge in the all-time series, including 6-3-0 as conference brethren. Tennessee owns a 4-2-0 edge in games played in Knoxville, including a 3-0 victory in the 2018 Sweet 16.

The Aggies won the most recent meeting in 2023, with Jazmine Wilkinson recording a hat trick in the Maroon & White's 4-3 victory at Regal Soccer Stadium.

Texas A&M's first win in the series came in 2014 when Shea Groom recorded a hat trick in the Aggies' first-ever Turn It Gold Match for a 3-0 triumph. In 2020, the Maroon & White earned a 3-1 win in Knoxville with Lauren Geczik recording a brace in the first 39 minutes.

The Volunteers opened the season on a five-match win streak, including victories over No. 1 North Carolina (2-0) and No. 4 UCLA (1-0). They opened SEC play with a 3-2 loss to Mississippi State, but rebounded with victories over Missouri (2-0) and LSU (2-1). The Vols have outscored opponents 25-4 this season.

Caysen Norris has started nine matches in goal for Tennessee, posting a 0.47 goals-against average and six shutouts. Jenna Stayart stars for the Volunteers with nine points on three goals and three assists. Shae O'Rourke and Alivia Stott have five goals apiece.
