MATCHDAY #3 LADY VOLS ⚽️ Thread: Next Up ‘Texas A&M’ 7pm @Regal Stadium(Admission is Free)

My daughter was a courtesy recruit in the 2025 class. She's a 5'4 GK, so UT was never going to be a realistic option. She was a keeper for OneKnox's Academy team, 18UDPL team, and has trained some with Zazz, so they were very honest, but kind and reassuring to her. Coach Baker and Coach Morgan are two of the finest humans we met during the recruiting process. Coach Baker still spoke to her long after she had made her commitment to a D2 school. Cayden Norris is the best women's keeper I've ever seen in person. Daughter was in the same high school region and had some slugfests with her...managed to win 1 regional title and drew her Norris' senior year on a 22 save, 0-0. If you're a Lady Vol soccer fan, be ready, because I don't think they're slowing down anytime soon. I've never met Coach Joe, but I honestly think he's putting together a program that's going to look a lot like Tony V and the Basevols...and he's always going to have elite GKs.
Wait until next years class, it’s so impressive, highlighted by possibly the number 1 player in the country.

Huge match tonight in Women’s Soccer.

The rivalry of rivalries with Florida State traveling to North Carolina.

For bragging rights, I’m pulling for UNC. Joe Kirt > Brian Pensky

Also it matches up the last two College Cup Champions.

Didn’t realize they were all from the same county.

Excerpts

Four former Williamson County soccer players have helped Tennessee reach unprecedented heights.

Ravenwood alums Ally Brown and Sarah Kate Rath and ex-Battle Ground Academy stars Keaton Mitchell and Kennedy Price are each playing important roles for the Lady Volunteers.

Brown played her senior year at Ravenwood after transferring from Wheaton North High School in Illinois.

Mitchell was a prolific scorer at BGA.

Rath transferred from Cincinnati to UT after her sophomore season in 2023.
“Tennessee was always my dream school, and in high school, I wasn’t initially recruited here,” Rath says. “I talked to the coaches and they were, like, ‘You’re just not ready yet.’ I got in the transfer portal, and coach Joe (Kirt) called me and he was, like, ‘We’ve been watching you play, you’ve grown a lot and we’ve been hoping you were going to get in the portal, and we want you to come on home.’”
She was also the quarterback of the first flag football state champion during her senior season, and Brown was a safety and wide receiver.

Price played for two state champion teams and one state runner-up at BGA.

She said it’s heartwarming to have three UT teammates from Williamson County.

“It makes me super happy that I can look back to even my club days and know that I’ve been at these girls’ side on the field for so long,” Price says. “It’s so amazing having all these people that I grew up with, all watching our journeys, and they led us here to UT.”

@brittannica
Does this mean she might go pro instead of playing in college?

Great question! I think she can train with them and still play NCAA soccer, but she can't sign with them and take a roster spot then play NCAA soccer. Hopefully, she is just using that to keep her skills sharp. I still think there is tremendous value in a college degree and in allowing yourself time and space to grow as a person and athlete in college.

My bad. I had mirrored sunglasses on when I posted that.

It's like Christmas here.

Everybody's popping in throughout the day, checking under the Lady Vols Forum tree to see if Santa Kim or Gabe Claus has left us another gift.
Don’t forget to drop by and post in the Ruby Whitehorn Memorial Assault thread. 🤣🤣🤣🙄🤙🏼🧡
