Of all the impressive freshmen -- and they all impressed the heck out of me last night -- it was Jazmine Massengill who made me smile the biggest. From the first moments of watching how she moves around I could feel that she is going to have a long and brilliant basketball career at Tennessee and beyond. She has "it."

I'm so excited about these new players!

She was so well coach in High School, Miss. Hunt is a terrific coach, I've watch her she runs her team like Geno. I so hope we get her daughter Treasure Hunt. I believe Kentucky will offer her a job to get her daughter.

Agreed. I felt of ALL the players on the floor, Massengill perhaps displayed the most comfort and poise. (Burrell appears to have good bball instincts, too.) It is reassuring to see that when Tennessee goes to its bench for support, there are potential weapons.

Massengill is from Hamilton Heights and has been noted elsewhere top rated prospect Kamilla Cardosa would perhaps like to play
more basketball with her. Also others.

Yeah I like her at PG. Cool as a cucumber. We’ll have quite the backcourt /wings next year. 6foot plus at the guards and wings.

I liked Zaay’s turnaround fall away in the lane. She has some radar on offense. I think she youthfully forced some shots on offense, but I liked how she made up for her mistakes on offense with defensive resolve.

Cheridene’s mature presence is comforting. She was solid, calming, and business-like, unlike Jackson who is still a little erratic. Poise and leadership are musts for this young but talented team.

Jackson will get there. DOn't grade her on just one game.
If we did that, then Zay is an instant MVP, POG, Superstar, best of the Lady Vols

Ridiculous analogy! And no grade was given, merely an observation. Jackson's margin for error is closing fast.

Is it? She had a marvelous game...so she will be great from now on, right?

Everyone's margin for error is closing. That's what happens as you get players of this caliber.
I know that.

I agree 100%, Massengill looks like a game changer. I was very impressed how physical the young ladies played. They need to play more under control, however, that was more or less due to the competition. It will be really interesting to see how they play as we head towards SEC play.

Freshmen vs Carson Newman 2017 27 of 39 from the field 57 points. I did not count Hayes totals in as she is no longer a Lady Vol.
Freshmen vs Carson Newman 2018 27 of 45 from the field 67 points.

Rebounds by freshmen 2017 29 for a 9.7 average
2018 33 for a 8.3 per player average

The freshmen that got to play in 2017 went on to excellent rebounding totals. 2018 should be the same for the incoming freshmen. I am expecting this to be one of the best Tennessee rebounding teams in many years.
