Mass Shooting Thread

Well, with the FBI taking over the investigation and the complete politicization of that formerly strong and authentic organization, I'm sure we can count on Patel to tell us the truth, even if it turns out the guy was not a leftist loon.

Lol. Sadly... lol.
Oh, you thought the FBI was truthful and not weaponized up until now? How sweet.

There is a shockingly prevalence in evangelical or charismatic Cristian churches of these bizarre, sometimes extremely hostile, views of mainstream religions and branches of Christianity, including some hard core anti-Catholic sentiment.
most of the Catholic hate I get comes from Christians. and I mean practicing christians, not that their parents made them go to church and now they are non-church goers. and not like 55/45 either. 75/25.

Its this weird undercurrent which seems to me to be based as much as anything else in long-standing competition (as in 600 years) birthed out of Martin Luther posting on the church door.

don't get me wrong, the church has done plenty to earn some hate. but definitely had a few friendships ruined because they found out I was Catholic. even more who were just amiable and then turned rude afterwards.

I knew you went to Catholic church or school but didn't know you were still a practicing Catholic. There are a lot of minor differences in dogma/doctrine/worship between the Catholic church and Protestants or Evangelicals but our family and church would never be hateful towards yall. We are just glad you pray to the same God that we do. Especially in an age where islam and atheism are increasing and the Church is in decline. I haven't seen a noticeable decline in attendance since I got in church in 2003...but we live in the Bible belt. Apparently Western Europe has had a steep decline in the last half century, paving the way for a lot of the problems they have now. I am sorry that anyone mistreated you over where you worship. I want to take my daughter to see the Cathedrals in Italy, France, and Spain. We toured one in SLC Utah and it was amazing. The architecture in those Cathedrals is some of the best on Earth. Hopefully we make it there someday.

Anyone who would do such a thing, left or right, is either downright evil or mentally ill, or both. I worry as well that if religiously motivated this kind of thing becomes more commonplace, as in Europe.
Interesting that you focus on religious people. The radical left is far more concerning. And then you have left race baiting leadership - cough cough - Maxine Waters calling for violence

The insane left wing rhetoric is a massive problem. Yes, it’s mentally ill people influenced the most (the guy who vandalized my Tesla was found incompetent to stand trial), but the rhetoric used is bound to influence them and intentional.

The NYT for example letting Hasan Piker post articles. The guy who said we should murder property owners and let them bleed out in the streets. The same guy who sung Bella Ciao on his podcast after the murder of Charlie Kirk. And NYT is openly promoting him?

^no clue about what the article actually says, but I have never seen a gif used as the thumbnail for an article.

Yeah, I have no idea what happened; copied the link from the gif and pasted it here, and this is what I got. 🤷‍♂️

I didn’t have the energy or knowledge to fix it.

Regardless, “it was gold!” 😉

Edit: on the plus side, I know how to crop screenshots!

@PEPPERJAX our people being Christlike 🥲

Nothing wrong with that at all. Supposedly his parents are good people snd members of the LDS church like the other 80 or 90% of people in Utah. Their son having done this is gonna place an enormous amount of unwanted attention and legal bills on a family that likely had absolutely nothing to do with the violence nor the garbage "trantifa" ideology of their son. Their local ward or extended family members and friends donating to help that poor family during their hard time is Christilke IMO and commendable. We would likely take up and offering and maybe a fundraiser BBQ or something to help a family in our church that hit hard times. We also have a fully stocked pantry at church flush with canned goods, frozen meat, perishables etc for anyone who needs it can discreetly load up their car and kitchen should someone lose a job, get sick and miss work, etc as well as to help poor people in the neighborhoods immediately surrounding the church. Thats charity. Real help for real people in your own community with zero loss to CEOs, paid employees, or the 1000 other things that "nonprofits" waste money on. Charity should be given willingly, not taken out of our paychecks against our will and redistributed as income...after its been run thru the single least efficient thing in the universe: the government. I am all for church members and others willingly giving their time, labor, and money to help those in need. The Bible says to "give with a cheerful heart." It's all the people (especially the gov. and Leftists) that feel that they are "entitled" to take a large portion of what everyone else earns...millions of dollars per hardworking person over a career in taxes...and give it to whomever they please while wasting and embezzling most of it. Thats a serious problem. I have a serious problem with that.
