They are wrong. The only loop hole is if the kid was a walkon(which may be the case with Rowland) and the kid wasn't recruited(1 phone call or less and no official visit). I appreciate your input and value what you say but your info is wrong in this case.
Well, one of these compliance people processed a similar waiver last year for a guy who was cut from a D1 team and transferred to another D1 school. It's still a hardship waiver.
Ill be interested to see how it turns out for guys. Schools have already been in touch on a couple of guys and think they have a good shot at getting a waiver. In the event they have to sit out, they're all getting releases, so they can be on scholarship right away. They can also go JuCo and be back in D1 in a year.
I'm really surprised about Fritts...Is Steckenrider not coming back because he's got professional opportunities? Fritts led the team with 28 RBI's, great in center, gonna be a senior...interesting
It's a travesty that he cant transfer to one of the lower D1 schools that recruited him so hard out of high school without sitting out a year. Shame on the NCAA for allowing this kid to be penalized in two different ways!
I was a supporter of Serrano, however, I am having second thoughts now. TO get rid of several upcoming Seniors (Fritts and Steck.) that would have provided leadership is mind-boggling to me. Both of these guys were big contributers to this years team. I'm not sure what Serrano's plan is but I have a feeling he may be out the door himself before long....
There's no way DS forced out Steckenrider...he was our best pitcher and pitched in half the games...he'll be a top 10 round pick and sign
And Fritts...while he was a good defensive CF, he batted below .250
Steck is leaving because he hates school. Fritts was let go because of attitude, Serrano and Fritts had clashed on a few occasions during the season. There was a total of five let go or released, several others was invited back but without money..mostly pitchers.
Thanks. I never got the impression of Fritts having any attitude problems. Very sad to hear. Thanks for the insight.
As for Steck, from what I know of him that makes sense. However, why would this become public knowledge? He basically just ditched his junior leverage. And with the new draft rules, he may really take a pay cut.

Fritts is gone because he is not a leader and apparently in the eyes of the staff part of the culture problem and not a part of the soultion. Experience and leadership are two different things.
