Just rented this game on gamefly. It is a bit much to take in. Too many options for me. Anybody else playing this game that can make any sense out of it? The chose your own adventure style is pissing me off. I guess I am more of a gears shoot and blood guy.

if you're not a big fan of the dialogue, then there's a good chance you're probably not going to like the rest of the game as it is centered around the choices you make. i thought the game was great, but I liked the way you could make your own decisions. the game is not rated that high for its combat, however. its highpoints are the storyline and the way you can control what kind of person your character is. i will say that the game started off slow for me, though. i didn't really start getting into it until after i left the citadel.

The graphics are outstanding but there is too much control over your team for my liking. I may give the game some more time, but it is not what I was looking for in a shooter. I will give it tons of credit for originality and story. Thanks for the info duckman.

Mass Effect is one of those games you have to put some time into to really get the most out of it.

If you go out of your way to learn the immense background info of the game, you will gain a better understanding of the enivornment around you, the storyline, and what motivates the races and characters that you encounter.

That was deep.

I also have this game right now and I just don't like it. There's something about the combats that I just don't like. That and it takes forever to get anything accomplished. I guess I'm just too impatient for this game.

My friend left this game at my house so I randomly started playing. It. Is. Awesome. I love the control that you have over your character and their path. Also, it has just enough shooting combat to keep me happy. Bioware always delivers the goods.

If you like Bioware, how have you been missing on the ME series this long?

I liked it; think the second one's better however

It's hard for me to say, the more I think about it. I liked the random exploration and overall story line of the first one. The game play mechanics, graphics, and user interface was way better in the second one, though.

I love them both. I don't think it's really centered around being a "shooter"- in fact I'd say that that isn't a good tag for the game at all. It's more of an RPG.

If you are a soldier (which I am) there is a lot of gunplay involved. I can see how it wouldn't be if you are an Engineer or Adept class but the way I played through it, it was.

I play as an infiltrator, so if I'm doing things right I'm only sniping.
