Maryville v. Alcoa

Maryville looked great on offense. They never punted. A few turnovers hurt them but Alcoa never really stopped them.

Alcoa will win the rest of their games. Oggs and Hambrick are playmakers. Oline is awesome.

Alcoa always claims Maryville wins because they recruit...How did Oggs end up at Alcoa?

When you have the success that these two programs do, there is no need to recruit. Good players want to play for good teams, and frankly, there aren't any others on the level of Alcoa and Maryville anywhere around.

MHS alum here. I watched this game out of state online. Wished i couldve seen it on a tv set like i did last year. Good game. Glad the rebs got the hard win.

Side note - Alcoa is still gonna run through their schedule, i think, no problem. Hambrick and Oggs definitely were studs and had some success against maryvilles usually stout D. Hambrick had to be the fastest player on the field.

Maryville missed an extra point? I didn't start watching until second half. I saw them go for 2 in a ridiculous situation. Was that just a botched snap, and then they tried to punch it in? I don't remember, but it looked intentional to me. They missed the 2 pt conversion and then got lucky that Alcoa missed the XP.

Or did they go for 2 because they didn't trust their kicker to kick the XP? lol, that would be pretty funny. Guess I should've watched the whole game.

Between the two teams, 4 PAT's were missed. It was pitiful. It was also quite surprising considering Maryville's kicker is supposed to be a good one. Maybe the snap and hold were bad? Who knows, but both teams definitely need to work on that.

The kick you have in questions had the snap bounce to the holder. I think he panicked and just ran with it. Didn't see how the first extra point was missed for Maryville. Alcoa had two that went wide.

One was a flat miss, iirc. The other was a botched hold. (both are in reference to MHS)
