If anyone thinks giving out offers to 3 star guys isn't a fall back plan for a P5 school then you're crazy. That's why they do this they offer the better people for the positions they need and offer the lower ranking people in the same position so if they don't get the person they truly want at least they get someone
Glad we’ve got proven talent evaluators running our show now not star gazers. Bc we’ve played the star worship game before. How’d that work out for us?If anyone thinks giving out offers to 3 star guys isn't a fall back plan for a P5 school then you're crazy. Tee camped here and was offered on the spot, over a year ago.If anyone thinks giving out offers to 3 star guys isn't a fall back plan for a P5 school then you're crazy. This comment is ignorant. There are 64 schools in the Power 5 (I'm not including Notre Dame as a member of the ACC in football) and per 247sports.com, there were 385 players at the end of the 2019 recruiting cycle who either reached 4 or 5 star status. If an average of 25 players are signed (it's probably more than that) by those 64 schools, then that means: 64 x 25 = 1,600 - 385 = a bare minimum of 1,215 3 and 2 star players sign with Power 5 schools on average (and that number, would of course, assume that no 4 or 5 star players sign outside the Power 5, which we know isn't the case at all). 3 star players comprise pretty much everything you see on the field when programs such as Oklahoma State and TCU play each other. That is all that they recruit ... and those are usually not bad teams. If anyone thinks giving out offers to 3 star guys isn't a fall back plan for a P5 school then you're crazy. It is clear by the fact that our staff has only taken 12 commitments so far, that they are being selective. Our staff wanted Hodge.

And look at how many Bama and GA have and play year in and year out also look at their success over the last decade and tell us all how we don't need 4star or 5star RBs.This comment is ignorant. his point is there are only so many to go around. and if you're not getting the 5*'s, you better be able to evaluate and develop, because the vast majority of talent is going to come from the 3* ranks....just b/c of volume. And look at how many Bama and GA have and play year in and year out also look at their success over the last decade and tell us all how we don't need 4star or 5star RBs.
There is a thread on the 1st page about how Tennessee made such a mistake in passing on Gary Patterson in 2008 (or whenever it was). Patterson has never signed a composite 5 star player at TCU. (QB Justin Rogers was a five star in one ranking but not in the 247 composite rankings.) That hasn't kept him from consistently beating teams that do.Exactly. Check out how many 4 & 5 stars Boise State and Utah, two schools routinely that beat us in the rankings the past decade, put on the field every season.
It wasn't a whine, it was a request, and everything said after that request was an opinion. So, get over yourself. He's got an opinion, you've got an opinion, and I've got one too. My opinion was he deserves a thumbs down. It’s a message board. He expressed an opinion you don’t like and so you’re whining to Freak. Get over yourself
