i'm gonna have to disagree with you. maryville returned everyone but their wr's on offense and stein rhomberg on D should be interesting. alcoa - (taharin tyson + warren) = maryville win in itself.

Actually Maryville still has there most explosive WR Dez Horne. But Alcoa still has Vee Hambrick and they got a guy from Austin East named DJ Oggs who apparently is quite an athlete, he will play QB or RB. But hes expected to get some D1 offers.

Maryville will probably win, even though us Heritage folk hate to say it. Alcoa lost Warren, Isom, and Tallant. Heritage will beat Maryville with our new transfer QB R.T. Byrd

Dez Horne graduated. Maryville returns their QB,All their OL and both tailbacks on offense. They also return a good tight end in Logan Winders. Receivers will step up. They got some good young ones.

Defense returns 7 starters. Maryville loses 2 linebackers,A safety and an DE.

Maryville's biggest loss will be Zach Sharp. He put almost every kickoff in the end zone.

Alcoa will still be tough and win 3A again. I can't imagine them being near as good as they have been the last 2 years. Those last 2 Alcoa teams have been the best I have seen. I have seen all their State Title teams.

I think Maryville wins but it will be close.

Who is R.T Byrd? He would have to be mike Vick for heritage to beat maryville.

Maryville had Alcoa dead to rights last year on fourth and long, and Alcoa made a play. Should be another classic game this year. I'll take the Evil Empire over the F5 in another thriller.

I did not see Maryville in the Maryville College 7 on 7 Passing League (don't know if they were even there), but I did see Alcoa. Alcoa looked really good. It will be a great game to watch. Probably, the only close game Alcoa will have, until post season.

Alcoa won't have a close game in postseason. They will either be 14-1 or 15-0. As long as Rankin is at Alcoa they will roll.

Heritage couldn't beat Maryville with Vick.

I'm a huge Maryville homer and played all four years under Quarles, but I seriously doubt this. Lol. A bunch of 16 and 17 year old kids trying to take down Vick would be comedy gold.

Ok - so Vick makes it a closer game - I've still got Maryville by a touchdown.

There is a slight possibility that Cleveland will give Alcoa a good game. The word is that Cleveland's QB Voytik is going to Pittsburg U. What big colleges are after Maryville and Alcoa's QBs?

Maryville's QB was committed to UNC, dont know if he still is after the mess they got in.

I think Patton Robinette is still committed to UNC. Even if he doesn't see the field, he'll be nice for their team's GPA.
I usually just go when the games are at MHS, just because there is so much more room, but I may go this year, still. My son is 17 months old...plenty old enough to start learning about this rivalry. He'll be a star WR/DB for Maryville in 2026.
