Marvel Cinematic Universe

I think it's a decent movie. I don't get why it was hated so much. A legit criticism I think is that was a lot of characters to throw at us all at once and it didn't feel like they really had time to flesh them all out very well. Plus what they ended up being kinda made them seem like hollow characters to me. I actually think it was a movie that might have been better as a 6 episode mini-series instead of a movie.
my issue was that it seemed like a throw away movie. no real references to other movies, and not many of the others have referenced it. seemed like it was thrown together too quickly to try and change the subject away from the infinity stones without really explaining much of any of it.

It always has been. They just sort of ignored it other than small references, I believe in the first Avengers Banner mentioned destroying Harlem, and Ross returned in Civil War and I also believe in that he referenced the Hulk rampaging through Harlem as a reason to control superheroes.

In Shang-Chi the Abomination made a small appearance fighting Wong in the organized fights. And then in She-Hulk Emil Blonsky was in it and showed him as a prisoner trying to reform, and also show Wong getting him to go to do the fight in Shang-Chi.

CA:BNW is the first one that Tim Blake Nelson returns as Sterns and Liv Tyler as Betty so in a way it's the first movie that really directly references TIH but it has always been canon, just kinda ignored.
I completely forgot about Blonsky in She-Hulk.

I think they had bigger plans for it but the reception was lukewarm at best.

the model that worked for them was to build up a plot line, introduce new characters over time, develop characters, relationships, and plot lines over time, and get people invested in the group.

in that movie that just started with the group and expected the casual fan to be attached to these new characters as much as they were the old ones.

and for me the "in universe" storytelling of there being these powerful beings existing for however long, yet the wider world knows nothing really about them, just comes off as bad storytelling. make it a compelling transition. introduce a character or two in a movie as a side plot, maybe make one of them a keeper of an infinity stone, heck give Nick Fury another pager. something that ties the worlds together.

as it was it was just "ok we finished one storyline, lets jump straight into the middle of another".

Once again, not sure why Ironheart is getting so much hate. I mean...I know why but...it's fine. It's not the best MCU show but it's enjoyable. People just need to grow up. What happened to "Yeah I don't like it, not for me" without turning into some bulls*** rant about woke and other clutch your pearls crap. Everyone isn't out to get you.

Because YouTube grifters have ruined cordial discourse.

James Gunn said Superman is a story about an immigrant bringing human kindness to the world (basically the story of Superman) and right leaning SM is losing their damn minds.

He made a stupid and ignorant statement. Funny, 60+ years of superman and there was no controversy until these activists start mouthing off. It's dumb

It's pure woke slop. The story is just dumb. The only purpose is to check boxes.

Tell me you don’t know anything about Superman without telling me you don’t know anything about Superman. 😂😂😂😂😂

You’d never guess that a movie based on a character, created by the children of Jewish immigrants, who is an alien raised as a working class farmer, and his main villain is a billionaire industrialist, just might…. maybe…. have the undertones of a political message.

Wait until you find out about the time he took on the KKK… in the 1940s… in defense of immigrants.

You didn’t watch it. Don’t even pretend you did. You saw brown people and checked your “nope” box.

It must be miserable prejudging everything through the woke lens .

Dude, she's supposed to be some genius but she gives up the chance to sell technology to be in some gang? She's was all about wanting to make money, what changed?

Yeah, it's a stupid story, written to appeal the "modern audience" And check boxes.

It felt kinda rushed despite the filming being done almost 2 years ago. The CGI looked great though so I guess that's the tradeoff. It had its flaws, but I liked it.
It is soooooo woke having the black main character literally make a deal with the devil at the end. I really like Sacha Baron Cohen as Mephisto.
