Marve considering Tennessee? Apparently not.

Hell ya. It'd be great to get a QB with starting experience without even having to expend a scholarship. Even if he doesn't pan out, it doesn't hurt to play with house money.

We need to have an experienced QB to win in the SEC and while Kiffin may bring in some pretty good ones next year, it's always good to know you have a guy with experience from a big school.

We don't really need anymore second string QB's. Our roster is littered with them already.

I think he'd get a scholarship in 2010. Would he have 2 years of eligibility left?

Actually, you're being kind. In 2010 NS might be our only legit 2nd string QB depending on what freshman we get. And there's a pretty good chance he'll be starting.

His dad will lobby for him to have the starting QB job and then have his son leave when it's proven he sucks.

And then we are no worse off than when we started. Might as well see if we get lucky. Or at least that is what I am thinking right now.

So having him on the team would be just like having that kid that left Arky for USC cause his mom wouldnt shut up?

good point IP.

If he really does suck and leaves it still wont hurt us in any way that I can think of.

This could indicate that we are striking out on our top 2 QB prospects for 2010.

Are student-athletes allowed to play immediately if they pay their own way or will he have to still sit out a transfer year?

As a walk on you can't beat it!...I've seen him up close and the kid can play...Plus He would add some much needed depth...Now if We can just land Cam and Heaps we'll be poopin in high cotton!

I am pretty sure they still have to sit a year. The thing is, Tennessee couldn't pay for his sit out year (give him a scholarship) due to Miami having Tennessee as one of the schools they wouldn't release him to. He could go to Purdue and sit out a year while getting school payed for and play next year, or come here and have to pay this year while sitting out. That's his situation.

I keep seeing that on here, but has he actually indicated that? Or is that just us UT fans projecting that on him?

staff has shown, it's that they are going to run the program-not the players and their parents.

The players currently on the team and the incoming ones know that no crap is going to be tolerated. You screw up, you're gone.
