Marquette would be a step down in my mind. The Big East is not what it once was. It's like an 80's bad hair band. 'Nova champs in 85 and Gtown from earlier than that. St John's and Providence??? CCM needs to stay in a power conference and compete against the likes of UK and FLA.

Marquette is a Basketball School, I believe it's Basketball program spends more money than any other school not named Duke. The Big East will likely add Dayton, Wichita St and a couple other Basketball schools making it a solid BB conference. IMO it would be a lateral move that I wouldn't blame CCM for taking, considering all the facts.
