Curious which one you guys think starts opposite Sutton. Personally, I feel like Justin Martin is the better overall corner and would feel more comfortable with him starting. Although, from what I've read Moseley has really stepped it up this summer and might even have an edge over him. What's your guys thoughts?

The coaches have really talked up EMan this fall camp haven't they? Sounds like that will be the guy come Appy State. I agree with how u feel, I thought JM was the better corner last season too. Lots of range and although both got beat several times it seems EMan got beat worse and more at least early in the year.

A lot can change in a year so maybe Mosley has the mental aspect down more or he may have more drive and be the harder worker?

Do you think it could just be motivation for Martin to push him harder?

With Shoop and his history of coaching secondary's up I feel pretty comfy with whichever they go with and I think with the dang stack of talent we have Shoop will rotate them in/out a lot (other than Cam) so starter may not mean much anyway.

Shoop said Mosley has the lead and has distanced himself from Martin so I will say Mosley. Just a very good guess...... based on fact.

Moseley is the guy I guess although I remember him being roasted often. Thought Martin played way better but that's Shoops call

If true, that's very disappointing IMO. Martin has the much higher upside and if he's not ahead of Moseley that means he's not reaching his potential and our corner situation isn't as good as it could/should be.

Shoop said Moseley keeps himself in position he just needs to make the plays. Think I like that.

I like EMan to start but Martin will see a lot of playing time too. I am hoping Shoop rotates them to keep them fresh.

I think Martin will get it together and take control. He's the best talent we have at corner. Best pro prospect.

Either that or Mosley has REALLY improved. Hard to imagine him getting that much better to not only be ahead but separate himself from JM though.

Does Martin just not have the drive and Eman does?

I would've thought Cam and JM had the corners locked down and the rest would be competing for back-up. That's why I'm not a coach I guess.

Yeah I definitely feel like it could be motivation for Martin. I could be wrong but even if Moseley starts I just feel like the overall talent JM has will win out and ultimately get a lot more snaps.

Maybe, just maybe, it means Mosely is playing better and has improved and Martin cant learn proper CB techniques and has to rely on athletic ability and that aint enough in the SEC. But hey, what does Shoop know. lol

So funny how the other guy is always better no matter what position it is.

Good points. Could certainly be wrong, but I have a tough time believing that if both players are giving the same type effort on and off the field, that Moseley can beat out a bigger, more talented Martin.

I'll also add that Doug Mathews recently said that Martin's issue with the coaches is that he's not shown a 3 play/down player, meaning that he's shown great ability for 2 plays then suffers with his focus and effort on play 3. Perhaps Moseley isn't showing similar lapses in focus and play and, as such, is ahead of Justin.....would make sense given the coaches' insistence on a consistent high level of play.

A few things. Practice matters. How else is the coach going to make proper determination on whom plays?

1) Moseley is one of the smartest kids on the team . Honor student. And he does have good physical talent. So when it comes to practice... he knows what he needs to show. He knows his teammates tendencies. He knows how to prove himself in practice. But Shoop had even said something we should all be weary of.
" Moseley is always in position, but HE NEEDS TO MAKE PLAYS".

This sums up his career so far. So...i don't believe anything has changed.

2) Martin had to go Juco. Hes had effort and personality issues. Nevermind his obvious talent. Its about comfort level with the coaches. Martin needs to be more methodical in his approach to football.

Both guys need work in different areas.
Moseley needs to take more risks.
Martin needs to embrace the process.

Both have the talent to play on Sundays.

Sutton is good but last year when challenged he was beat and he seems to get soft on run support in stretches. Keep in my mind that I believe Sutton is a first round draft pick.

Dude, youre picking a CB that cant even break the starting lineup over an all SEC CB. Just stop. Please tell me you meant to type in blue font.

Exactly. Nice rebound. :)

This staff have continually shown they have poor judgment when it comes to who should start. In 2014 it was their reluctance to play Dobbs. Then last year it was starting Jumper over Kirkland to start the year.

I have zero faith in them putting the best players on the field to start the season.

I could care less who practices better. All I know is when it came to playing in games Moseley was terrible while Martin was pretty good last year.

Martin is a better player on gameday for sure.

Both need to be more consistent.

If coach Snoop says Mosley is ahead of Martin I have to believe him,he is with them everyday. Time will tell starting Sept 1.
