A lot of revisionist history around here. I don't recall many people saying it was a bad idea, at the time. Where were all these people when the season looked like it was over (as far as making the tourney)? Vewy vewy quiet.
According to a quote from Cuonzo, it (the petition) was a very good teaching point for his players, and it obviously worked. I think what some of the boosters did with the planes, and what Hart did by not making his new contract the way he wanted it, was a much bigger factor than the petition, when it came to him making the jump to Cal.
Of course the national media is giving us a black eye now, and we know they are always right.
