@swainevent: I'm hearing there's a strong chance Marquez North will forgo his Senior season and enter the NFL draft.

Makes sense IMO. No need in getting injured and sitting out another year in school. Go get that money.

If he does imo it is an indictment on the coaching and development he has received. If he thought he would be a part of a dynamic passing game and get better in college next season it would be a no brainer to come back to school.

Could be that he keeps getting hurt?? Hard to develop someone who can't get on the field. Some people just look for an opportunity to take a jab at Butch...

So let me get this straight, the 3 guys who balled out this year and sent papers in to be evaluated for NFL draft are going to come back to school, and the guy who was non-existent all year is going to leave early?

My thoughts exactly.

How exactly is it in indictment on his coaching? Did Azzani coach him to get injured? Did Azzani make Dobbs a poor downfield passer?

Can't say I blame him. It will be very difficult to improve his stock unless there is an emphasis change by Debord or Dobbs makes a massive leap in downfield passing ability over the off-season.

Im sure that is part of the decision process. If it was obvious that staying here would make him better (and that doesn't always equally putting up good numbers) prepared he would come back. It appears (if this is true) that he thinks staying another year is not gonna do that.

Be interesting to see how that group progresses this year. He may very well had made the best choice.

Thread title had me thinking someone left a window open.

What a strange story North's has been. I can't help but think he is a certainty to make a roster and play a lot next year.

IF he enters the draft and has success on Sundays, what UT alumnus could you compare him to?

David Martin comes to mind. Don't remember him in pads at all and then he went nuts in the pros. Denarius Moore?

Rod Wilks recently installed a new oven at my Mom and Dad's house. Maybe he will North after he returns to town.

"go get that money"? I think there is a belief that NFL teams just throw out cash to any and every player that is draft eligible.

MN is a good kid I believe but he's kidding himself if he thinks he's "getting that money". He will probably have to sign a FA deal or maybe a 5-7th round draft pick and often-injured guys don't get a lot of money. "Cant help the club in the tub". Whatever, played practically all yr without him this year so good luck.
