My problem with Poole is that he wasn't consistent. Dooley was begging Neal to take his job the last of the season because he just disappeared. Poole wont be as fortunate if that happens again. Neal is a yr older and Lane will be pushing for major PT and probably starting. If Lane had been here last year Poole wouldn't be here now as he would have transferred. Just like if Kiffin had still been here Poole was gone because he wasn't touching the ball.

i hope lane does well,but all baxks need to put up better numbers,need a back to get 1000 plus,one to get 600 plus,and 400 plus yards rushing.

Anyone who says an "average" RB can post the stats TP had last year without a great OL in front of them demonstrates that they don't know diddly.

How many times are you going to post this same BS? At the end of the season Neal had taken almost all of Oku's PT. Poole avg'd about the same number of touches over the last half of the season as the first. His ypc improved. In the last 6 reg season games, he went over 100 three times and had 99 once. His numbers fell off while he was playing hurt. Otherwise he was consistent as long as he got the carries.

I also thought it took real talent to do that. Dooley let out a line last year that great RBs didn't need good offensive lines. I took that for some rare motivational bullhock.

Lol nah hate the Gators. I don't hate Poole or any Vols. I pull for whomever is in the game and is a Vol. Now do I think he's an average back? Yes..But how many fans don't think that? Just because I'm pulling for Lane to come in and upgrade that position with Neal and Smith doesn't make me hate him. Its no different than all the Crompton,Lincoln,Joey Mathews the list is endless of players who very and continue to be verbally abused. Gotta come stronger

Pull for Lane (I will too) but don't put down our other players. Poole had a pulled groin, he ran behind an inexperienced and porous OL, and still got 1,000+ yards. Until we see him behind at least a decent line, I don't think we can label him poor, average, or anything else. I'd liked to have seen Lattimore run behind the line we had last year. You'd more than likely would be saying the same things about him you're badmouthing Poole about. No one man win or loses games, it takes a team.

If that line doesn't improve as much as we (and it seems the coaches) believe it will, Lane will probably be your next whipping boy. Me? I believe in standing by our boys come hell or high water UNLESS they get involved in stupid conduct that breaks the law and/or consistently hurts the school and team in some manner.
So until you or any other negavol don a uniform, get out there and sweat and take the knocks in games with those boys, you have no place for badmouthing them.

I stand by our players. Even if they stink? Yeah as long as they're giving all they have and refusing to roll over and die. I want to win like everybody else but I refuse to accept badmouthing the boys who go out there and face the opposition like men. Same can be said for the incoming Montana team so many UT fans feel we will whip without effort. Their fans stand by them as well they should. By not having the dignity to do the same with our players puts us on a lower level than any Grizzly fan or fans of any team we think is of lesser ability than our Vols. Really? YES because those fans understand something too many negavols don't. It's called RESPECT for the guys who wear the team uniform, go out on the field and fight to win no matter who they're up against. One last thing woodsman did you play for UT and wear the orange and white? Just wanna make sure you have the experience and knowledge to be able to speak on that. So many people ragged on Bryce and how he was average but he also had an injury most of the year and still saw flashes of him being a stud RB.

Whoa somebody got up early and spent some time with Orgeron and his redbull.
I haven't hated on anybody including Poole. I said there's better talent here
now that will improve our running game. There's a reason Poole didn't see the field with Kiffin here and Kiffins an idiot. Poole was our only option and like it or not he'
s an average RB.He missed alot of open
holes and tries to bounce outside which
he doesn't have the speed to outrun
anybody and doesn't break alot of tackle
s or run anybody over.If you don't have
good speed you have to read your block
s better and have good vision. Also being
able to not go down easily and breaking tackles. As far as RBs go he's soft. Again I
will pull for whoever is on the field because ultimately the goal is not stats but getting wins. I just think now with Neal's improvement and Lanes pure God
given ability at RB that we have weapons
