Sometimes signing doesn't even mean anything... They sign their letter of intent on NSD, until then they are just verbals, except for Early Enrollments of course.

Why did that tread get deleted?

This is all happening too fast, when Wright, Clear, Richardson, Johnson, Maggitt, Dawson, Fulse and Mackey commit next week I dont know if I/we are gonna be able to handle it!!!!!!!

"I'll bring another weapon," Lane said. "Get in the open field and use my explosiveness. Just another impact player. My goal is to get playing time as a freshman and help Tennessee win. I'm coming in to compete and I'm not going to let anyone outwork me."
Like the hunger

Very nice to have the verbal. Only a few more days... top 10 maybe?
WesternKYVol - What makes you say that about Moore. I though Miami was it for him.

I will assume you are reading the Byron Moore thread by now. but if you are not I recommend it, particularly the posts by Skeeter who apparently has ears inside the coaching quarters!

"Coach Russell is amazing," Lane said. "I talk to him every day. I like the entire staff because they are real. They aren't fake and they aren't going tell you something they don't really mean."

I love hearing this from every recruit that meets our coaches. Kids want to trust the coach and what they tell them. Dooley and Co. tell the kids like it is, it takes balls to do that, and might not always work out, but in the long run honesty is key. This is something we neer would have got with Kiffin.

Lane tore the ACL in his left knee last year, and many thought he would miss his entire senior season. Some of have questioned if he is the same player that he once was, but those doubters drive Lane.

"The guy that said that has never even seen me play," Lane said. "I only played in five games this year including the playoffs. I rushed for 785 yards and wasn't even playing running back the entire time. I was playing in the slot some. I scored at least two touchdowns in every game I played. My knee gets stronger every day and it's because I keep rehabbing it. I rehabbed it all last summer five days a week, three times per day. I did a lot in a sand pit."

hopefully this wont get removed but I wanted to share. This kids going to be a BEAST for us.

Insidetennessee.com has this..“I called and committed to Coach Dooley on Saturday,” Lane told the trio. “I wanted to wait and make an announcement later this week, but that didn’t happen.”
“Everyone kept calling me and texting me,” Lane said. “I didn’t realize it got out that I had committed. I denied it at first but then realized there was no way I was going to hide it at this point.”

I guess we need to thank the Knoxville weather for this one. LOL.

One thing that impressed the standout running back from Florida was the fact that he got to see snow in Knoxville.

“I know this is kind of funny, but I had never seen snow before,” Lane said. “I thought it was really neat.”

I was only kidding about the weather comment, he also said this:

Lane was also impressed with Derek Dooley and his coaching staff.

“They have been recruiting me hard for a long time now,” Lane said. “I think with my talent and the way I run the ball I will work my way up the depth chart. Coach Dooley is
a great guy, a man of high character. I’m excited about being a Vol for Life.”

I like the Vol for life comment.

Well would you agree that Lane looks solid? I'd think we should feel pretty damn good about our offense in a couple years.

Sure. Just making the point that the kid already committed is a legit D1 running back and will be heard from here.
