Translated for us white people:

"Everyone is speaking out about how UT has been struggling at the Running Back position. To answer back, Tauren Poole and I intend to step onto the football field Saturday and show them the extent of our talents in this area.......... God bless you all"

Hope he's taking English/grammer on the hill

For real guys? Cmon he is a kid. I'm sure yalls generation did something that the generation before you disapproved of. At one time Elvis was was considerered a bad thing. Times change and this is just a lingo he will use I'm sure during this stage of his life. He'll grow out of it.. Until then worry less about how he talks and be grateful that he chose to don the orange and white instead of another schools colors... VFL .

I'm not really against typing the way you speak casually, but I'm a kid too, and I type using proper English.

It seems like a lot of great football legends cannot write or speak. Ed Reed sounds like he has a 3rd grade education whenever he speaks. I hope Lane lives up to motif.

I didn't realise there were different "versions" of English.

yep common misconception...there are actually many, many forms of English..

the version our guy Lane was speaking is called African American Vernacular English...

The dialect most here in Knoxville are familiar with is called Southern American English..

and there are many more..

Come on! We all know that Wikipedia is not an accepted source!

Everyone arguing about the grammar in this post should be banned. You've clearly missed the point.

We know the point. We'll see how his words are backed up on the field, but I do like that they're out to prove something.

Who gives a crap how he types it out. The kid's looking to have a breakout game against the Gators and we should be saying things like "hell yeah" or "beast". This whole thread has turned into a correct grammar thread which is sad.

I always get a chuckle watching the generation that pioneered hippie, beatnik, and funk slang getting their buttholes puckered over some new age slang. Some of you watched guys drop acid and hide from flying monkeys. Others of you stood in a dirty field and stayed high for a week talking about "chillin out maaaan" but if a kid texts the way he'd talk today you act like he fell on his head.
