Mark Stoops: "He's a senior right? Get him outta here."

Kentucky player: "He's like a tight end playing QB. When he gets it in the zone...can't stop him."

This is the second coach in the East to say this. The first being Jim McElwain. Just goes to show to type of respect Josh has around the league.

I'm trying really hard not to base his legacy of the SCjr game. He needs to finish with a couple of strong performances in SEC play and have a strong bowl performance.

He's had an incredible run and has done tremendous stuff for UT but has to get that SCjr game out of our minds because it WAS that bad. By far his worst game at UT and as a senior against a poor opposition.

I know it would take a Divine intervention, the type that would fill Churches with atheist the next morning, but I sincerely hope for his sake, he leaves with an SEC championship.

It would be okay for me too.

That's pathetic if you base his legacy off of one game

I think they will be saying the same stuff next year with JG

Is JG that good of runner? His Senior HS stats show 83 rushes for 206 yards averaging 2.5 yards per rush. I have never seen him play but the Under Armour game and he was underwhelming in that game. I just keep seeing how great he's going to be and concerned we are doing the same thing we did with Kahil and Kongbo. Expectations so high that he's being set up for failure or under achievement. .

No kidding. I'm glad this guy wasn't around during the Manning years. Those Vandy D's were tough and he/UT struggled against them from 95-97. I don't think his legacy was hurt too badly.

Check out JGs stats when his HS played powerhouse IMG Academy. He has great potential but you have a point. Some fans have automatically annointed him the starter next year and are completely dismissing Dormady and Jones.

When I think back to that Carolina game, I'm definitely going to remember it as a team loss. Dobbs played poorly, but he was far from the only one, and it wouldn't have hurt for the rest of the team to have picked him up for once, as he did for them so many times in his career, most namely neutralizing terrible offensive lines.

It's going to be one of the last times we see him play so it'll be a lot more fresh than say the game in Columbia two years ago.

This was an unbelievably abysmal performance and the loss was on him. When your season goals are on the line, your senior QB is the guy that steps up. Instead, he played the worst game of his career and possibly against the worst SEC competition he's played in his tenure.

I hope Dobbs has 4 more great games at UT. I will be at the Mizzou and Vandy games to cheer him and the rest of the Vols to victory.

It's a shame that fans (at least a lot of the ones on here)...can't see or refuse to see what a talent he really is.

This post has the ring of truth IMO. USCe took their opening possession and marched down the field physically whooping our defense for 7 points. That was the message statement of the game to me, we lost the game based on their opening possession, they're not supposed to be able to do that to us.

Don't be too happy, Coach Stoops. You're still gonna be Kentucky. And you're still gonna have to play Tennessee.

Dobbs wasn't the one who lined up for a FIFTY EIGHT YARD KICK. Maybe if he'd had another shot at the Hail Mary we might have a different interpretation of the events.

Also, if the Hurd-refusing-to-go-in story is true, I don't think you can put the full blame on Dobbs. That fumble at that moment was incredibly costly.

Dobbs does have talent, but it seems he has that one bad game every year. Last year he had a bad game against Arkanas and the year before against Mizzou.

Well, what was it , 4th and what ?

Seems to me, that a standard pass to JJ -- possibility of a catch OR pass interference -- would have been a greater likelihood than than even a hail mary (CERTAINLY > a 58 yarder).

I will miss Josh Dobbs.

So beating UGA twice (ending a 5 year streak the first time) and FL for the first time in 12 years wasn't enough? How how about two blow out bowl WINS for the first time 8 years?

But you go right ahead and let that one game define him for you.

I remember that quarterback we had back in the 90s who was pretty good but dadgum, that guy never could beat Florida, got beat out of a major award by a defensive back and those things will forever define his career.

He also completed less than 50% of his passes and through for more ints than TDs against Vandy.
