Tennessee Football - Volunteers News, Schedule, Players, Stats, Video - College Football - ESPN

its the first vid. he says we had a moral victory. seems he had a change of mind because right after the game he said that we hadnt "tried to win" and that Florida had an off day.

i think hes talking out of his arse, but he, Herbstreit, and a few others are talking about its only a matter of time until UT can truly contend with UF and win regularly again. everyone knows it. i think its slowly coming to everyones attention and some arent ready for it and others are in shock. how long has it been since we were really a scary team? we are scary now because we arent a very good team and are showing light. we may not win 8 games or have a flashy season, but i think this past weekend shows that we are not a team to be overlooked.

also, everyone knows CLK can recruit. not everyone knows how he can coach. we hung with the number one team
"of the decade" running an overly predicatble and utterly vanilla offense with less talented players. i tingle with excitement to think of what CLK will do with his playbook with the right personel...

They just try to create ratings. Just last week Holtz opinion was exactly the opposite praising UT saying they would crush UCLA, and Mays was all for UCLA and bashing the Vols. Now reverse that and you have The Final Verdict week 3. It's just blabbering.......

If Bray can come in and start next season, or if Stephens steps up and shows some good things this year (like the ability to actually look off a receiver, which would be nice) then this team could be very dangerous next season.

All Bray has to do is complete a few short passes, don't throw INT's, and hand off the Brown and Oku.

Something even a Crompton should be able to do.

Fulmer left us with nothing on the shelf, let this staff restock it, we are a national powerhouse. And we get to see other coaches get fired.

Man Lou holtz hates us. I don't know if anyone else happened to watch the segment but you can see a look of happiness when he talks about Tennessee losing. I wish fulmer would have jumped on the set and hit him with a flaming barbed wire bat.

Thank you mark may for taking up for us for once. Everyone stay tuned to Around the horn and PTI today. Wilbon Is one of the many that said we would get 60 put on us.

The Calzone has spoken

Wrong. You have to be able to pass downfield to stretch out the defense.

Until something changes, and I'm pulling for Crompton to gather his composure and regain his confidence, it appears that CLK will continue to press the run game. That's all.

Mark May and Lou Holtz are both clowns. Both are frequently wrong in their predictions and almost never acknowledge it.

Did Mark May examine any of the following considerations?

One of UT's most important strengths right now is its veteran offensive line. Aren't four of the five starters gone after this season? How good are their replacements going to be? Will UT's inexperienced offensive line be able to run block and pass protect well enough versus SEC defenses?

UT's defense was excellent last season and certainly has been outstanding so far this season. Eric Berry might leave for the NFL. What other key players will be leaving and how good are their replacements going to be?

UT's only significant weakness among its starting players right now is it's lack of a QB/passing game. Will that problem be resolved next season? The receiving corp will doubtfully be an issue. But who will the starting QB be? Stephens? Lamaison? Bray?

Not trying to paint a bleak picture at all, just trying to point out some important considerations. For example, lot's of folks thought Bama might experience a drop off at QB and offensive line this season. So far so good, but the season is still young, so we'll see how they do against teams like LSU, Ole Miss, etc.

Anyway, the things I mentioned, and perhaps a few others are what have to be considered when making projections about how good UT might be next season. I doubt Holtz and May have much of a clue about any of them.

It's rather a tough sell to take a guy that was so far off in one prediction (our score) but give him credit anywhere else.

To be honest I'm constantly amazed why anyone actually cares even a little bit about any of these people's opinions.
