Mark May also picked UT to win it all in 2005. He's a buffoon. But so is Holtz. So, at least one buffoon will be correct.

Maybe they should call their segment the Battle of the Buffoons............

Mark May gets a horribly undeserved rap on these boards, as well as a few other analysts. He has to be bold in order to make any sort of television at all, and no one gets it right 100 percent of the time anyway.

Lou Holtz is biased and terrible though, and Corso does it to himself.

Mark May is widely regarded as incompetent. He managed to not look like a complete fool last season because he was paired with Lou Holtz. Whenever he is next to a person without dementia, he comes across as the dunce that he is.

I'm glad this thread isn't linked with the name calling and personal attacks thread.... :eek:lol:

I actually don't mind Mark May. I didn't like him at first, but he doesn't bother me that much. Chris Fowler and former anaylist Trev Alberts are far worse IMO. As for Holtz, I learned to just look at him as the comic relief of the trio.

granny clampetts should go jump off a tall bridge. i just saw that segment where they were talking about the ut uf game. mark may said tenn would win bc of questions on uf's defense and EA. all holtz said was, "yeah, those 114 yards per game are gonna run all over florida." with a smirk. i really really really HATE Old granny lou

I've always liked Mark May, Lou Holtz though, you can just see the Tennessee hate that he still carries from his SC days.

By whom? I am sort of indifferent about him, but those who really count (ESPN execs) must feel he is competent.

Whether anyone on here agrees or not, many Vol fans have chip on their shoulder as far as ESPN is concerned. Like they are against us or something. We get plenty, and I mean plenty, of TV time by ESPN. It all started several years ago with the Fowler comment, but as a whole, if all events were put into consideration, we get more than adequate coverage and are generally thought in high regard by most there.

i guess he forgot that florida also pretty much has to replace their entire defense. like i said before, i try not to pay too much attention to what lou says. every time he talks I halfway expect for the yakety sax song to start playing from the benny hill show.
