i just watched college football live on espn and one of the analysts picked Tennessee as a sleeper for the national championship saying that they have the best o-line in all of college football. he also mentioned crompton as a quarterback to watch to have a great season because the o-line is so good and he also mentioned his game as a freshman against lsu.

It was Mark May who said it. I like the way he thinks but overall, I think he's a moron.

I'm kind of worried about the fact we are a "darkhorse" and people are excited. I don't want to be a darkhorse I want to be a serious contender.

Don't worry. I'm sure that someone will chime in with a well timed "Darkhorse is the last stop to mediocrity and obscurity".

As long as we are a darkhorse we contend. As you know records and who you play isn't as important to #1 as it use to be. Your name mentioned several 10000 times (cough georgia) has a lot to do with it now.

I could buy it, but I really think it's going to be nearly impossible for UTK to go undefeated with their schedule. My guess is the SEC will not be in the BCSCG this time around unless someone is undefeated. Otherwise, I'd put my $ on the winner of Texas/Oklahoma vs. the winner of OSU/USC.

My bottom dollar would be on USC. The PAC-10 is basically mush this year, but they should watch out for Stanford. Okla can go very far, it depends solely on how Bradford does and if he hits the Sophmore Slump or if he continues with his development. Okla should watch out for KState... as they love Sophmore QBs.

I bet Okla doesn't want to face USC for the BCS Title again, though.

after last season, darkhorse is easily the best we could have expected. Our Dline and receivers play any ball at all and we could make May look like a genius.

Of course, after the kind of year it was last year... it's basically a crapshoot to try to guess who will be playing in the NC game.

It wouldn't surprise me to see another 2 loss team form the SEC win the NC. If the d line improves and Crompton keeps the mistakes to a minimum, it could happen. I'm not even thinking that far ahead, though.

The SEC is a minefield, no doubt, but I think it's entirely up to USC. If USC sweeps the table along with, say, Oklahoma... there isn't a shot in the dark anyone, even a 1 loss SEC team goes to the BCS game.

I don't think it's incredibly unlikely that there is an undefeated SEC team. There is, imo, a much better chance of being undefeated teams from either the Big 10 or 12 or the PAC-10.

I'm with you on the no undefeated SEC team. We'll see about the other conferences... my gut tells me this will be another crazy year.
