...and Tennessee lost by 7. Just like the Florida game, look to the other side of the ball to find the real problem.

I can't feature anyone blaming Tyler Bray for this loss. While I don't think he's quite ready for the NFL after this season, I do believe that he did his part in making this game as close as it was considering the defense's poor tackling on off-tackle runs around the ends and zone reads. Basically, Tennessee's defense is perhaps the worst in the entire conference, and I don't know to be honest with you just how many games we will win the rest of the way. I would normally say Troy, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky will be automatic wins, with Missouri and possibly Mississippi State being toss ups, but with this defense being so bad at wrapping up and making tackles, I just don't see us winning more than six, maybe seven games, this season. I think it is safe to say that the probability that Derek Dooley will not have a job at season's end is quickly going up.

They tackle OK. The problem is that they aren't in position to make many.

I just can't believe anyone who knows anything could put this on Bray. Our defense is absolutely the worst defense I have ever seen. With any amount of coaching or improvement since the season began, we win this game.

Bray played ok, but our D just didn't show up. I think we had 3 solid stops. Other than that it was GA stopping themselves.

Defense deff !!! Why in the world are our linebackers playing so F-ing close to the line of scrimmage. No angle and our linebackers don't have the closing speed to catch these RB!!!!! Any body else notice this!!!!

Yet we know Aj is fast. I believe its more a product of not knowing 3/4 defense and having to think and react; not instinctively react. That is the half step that kills.

He was moving the chains, making great throws - tough throws.

He had CP drop at TD - JH maybe dropped a TD - at least a big gainer on 3rd down. Neal dropped a big gainer.

Bray was putting the ball in good places.

The back shoulder throw to CP on the INT was a tough throw and that one was on him.

The fumble is on him too, but I don't blame him for trying to make something happen.

Agree for the most part. Although I wouldn't say he played a great game, he did play well enough that Tennessee should have won this one.

The lack of speed on defense and what seems like utter confusion in the secondary is what cost us this game. Oh and lets not forget our PKs. They almost make me miss Daniel Lincoln.

AJ is deff a great player but he is only one and if the ends don't force is back to the middle and the linebackers bottled up near the line then that half off a step the RB is getting is killing us and that what they have been doing to us, burning our AZZ! By Dooley reaction post press conference I can't help to think some other people on defense is going to get a chance. Any body got a thought on this!!! All I know is if thing don't change it's going to be a long year on trying to stop the run!!!

I think the Romo comparison is a pretty good one. Granted, the defense and kicking game were awful, but he missed a wide open Hunter on two crucial third down conversions in the 2nd half, and then when he gets two legit chances to tie up the game in the fourth quarter, he threw an INT and he fumbled the other one away. I'm not even counting the INT on the last 15 second drive, can't hold that one against him. So yeah, Bray played a "good" game, and has a decent stat line, but great quarterbacks are judged by what they do when they have the ball in their hands with the game on the line, and in that respect Bray has a lot of improvement to make.

All that having been said, if our defense played even a C+ game yesterday we probably would have won it.

IMO, Bray's recievers let him down. Dropped passes and that tipped pass make a huge difference in the game and his stats. Also having to keep our TE in to keep Jones off Bray is what caused the other tip and catch int.

Bray had a good game and played with grit, his stat line should have been 300+yards with 3td and only 1int

How many of his passes were in front of or behind his receivers, he had Hunter wide open across the middle three time and missed bad each time. He rushes his passes when he should take his time he takes his time when he needs to get rid of the ball quickly.

I thought Bray was off yesterday. Score we did, when it mattered and we needed a quarterback, he missed, and faltered. He can sling it with the best of them when we are playing below our talent level, when he faces good defense he appears so-so. I made those comments out loud yesterday several times. I don't know that I want him back for a senior season at this rate.

AJ is not that fast. This year has shown how weak our linebackers really are. They are decent at times but so is every D1 linebacker in the NCAA.
