She still has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. I remember being in the car with my mom, and I couldn't tell you which song it was, but we both turned and looked at each other. Just a truly beautiful voice.

Yep! She was also a childhood crush for me.

Nick Cannon is somewhere laughing his ass off.

What's sad is she had the track to her own song playing but it's like she couldn't remember the words.

Wrong, without the monitor she couldn't hear anything over the crowd. I assure you she remembers the words to her most popular songs.

She's been like this for awhile. Showing up late, being carried around, lip syncing everything, blaming all problems on other people. Stuff like this happens when you don't show up in time to rehearse and everyone around you has the same lazy attitude. I'm sure the networks learned their lesson, she won't be asked back to anything with a tight timeline again.

Her music didn't work..didn't these people learn anything from Milli Vanilli?

Tons of musical acts lip sync for televised performances. If you ever watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, it's obvious every singer or group they show isn't singing or playing. Plus stuff like The Today Show a lot of the times they aren't really performing.

Even the Super Bowl halftime show, the music is pre-recorded though the vocals are usually live. The Red Hot Chili Peppers made it a point to tell their fans they weren't performing their instruments when they played with Bruno Mars a few years ago, and Flea pointed out his bass wasn't even plugged in.

At events like that the risk of something going catastrophically wrong is too big. Same reason why Mariah Carey's event was lipsynced...Except in this case the one thing that was never supposed to go wrong did go wrong. I'd rather see someone try and fail than not try at all, though.

I get why they do it, because unlike a concert there isn't hours of sound check and all. But it's still kind of lame to me, and in cases like the Macy's parade, they just look silly pretending to sing when you know they aren't.

She can hear the same music everyone in the audience is hearing all she had to do was sing along with it, unless she's drunk, stupid, or doesn't know the words to her own songs. Perhaps it was all of the above.

It's always funny when you don't know things. But I'm a A/V guy by trade, so I find this one even more amusing than usual. This sounds like a faulty earpiece for her, which would spell disaster

It appeared that she either took it out or it fell out and she didn't realize it. It appeared to be dangling around her neck/shoulders.

It's amazing how people sang on stage back in the day when there were no earpieces or today's technology. I mean how did that ever happen successfully?
