He has all but said he thinks Tennessee will win the east and play Auburn for it all.

Marcus and Booger both have said they think UT will win the East. McElroy and Finebaum are going with UGA-Bama -- surprise, surprise.

I use to listen to McElroy in the mornings and felt like he's always given us some love. He's big on Dobbs.

Yes, he's complimentary toward individual players (especially Dobbs and Barnett) and Butch... but he picked us to be third in the East this year. He and Finebaum both said they think UGA will beat us comfortably.

Everybody is worried about the OL and Offense but by mid season this Defense will be one of the BEST in the Country if, and thats a big if the Linebackers get the mental part of the game down, this unit can be and will be very special down the road, on paper there is NFL talent everywhere.

Just because they're picking Georgia doesn't make them anti Tennessee. It just makes them logical.

What I saw was a section of the show called the best and the worst for each team. He said the absolute worst we could do was 3rd and that was if Dobbs falls flat or injured etc. Then he said if Dobbs does what he thinks he can then we can win the East! He thinks Georgia has more overall talent but they have a big question at QB and they play Alabama and Auburn this year plus they have to travel to Neyland to play us.

He wasn't picking us 3rd the way I read it anyway!

I didn't say McElroy was anti-Tennessee. I don't think he is. I said he thought UGA would beat us and win the East. At SEC Media Days, he picked UT to finish behind UGA and either Mizzou or USCe. He was higher on USCe than the others and thought Spurrier would surprise some people.

I think McElroy is one of the more impartial SECN analysts. I don't follow everything he says, but I have heard him say multiple times that he thinks Butch is doing a great job, but UT is a year away from competing for championships. Others, like Marcus and Booger, think UT has the horses to win the East this year. Both UT and UGA play ranked opponents before the Dawgs come to Neyland. Either team could be favored, depending on how the season starts.

McElroy is a great analyst. Best thing to come out of Tuscaloosa since that tornado a few years back.

I must be missing something. Looks like he's in love with Auburn in that link. Is there any other article where he's showing UT love?

Yea, the entire day of SEC Media days he basically praised Barnett as the best defensive player in the SEC, he loved the D that UT has, and now this...
