Pocket was collapsing. TE makes his block and the ball is gone .5 seconds laterIt was overloaded but there were enough to block it and it was whiffed. But JG has to feel the pressure and anticipate pressure and move off the spot. He stands like a statue waiting for the wr to open up instead of stepping up, dumping it off, running, or throwing it away.
Jarrett Gaurantano (sp?) looked shaky to him against Florida. He'd like to see Tennessee give Keller Chryst a chance to see if he can make some plays downfield.
Personally, I don't know if Chryst could lead the offense better as a starter or not but the QB play displayed last week is not winning football. For all the talk about the QB can't commit turnovers for this team to have a JG lays a huge egg in a game we needed to win. I know, I know the offensive line is not great but it is what it is. This is not 7 on 7 shell drills where the pocket stays clean.
I want our QB to be more than tough, I want him to know how to win.
In garbage time against ETSU and Floridas 3rd stringYeah JG completes 2 passes on the first drive and we still didn’t get a first down. I think Chryst has led more TD drives for us this year. At some point try something different rather than just keep losing. It’s not bailing on JG as much as trying something else and maybe give him a chance to watch and learn (if he can do that and not pout)
Assuming he means College.Lol. No he hasnt.
