Let me say first I was born & raised in east Tennessee & moved to SC when I was around 1O. I played ball & graduated from Byrnes & currently live less than a mile from the school. Marcus Lattimore is the real deal. The vols need to make a strong move for this kid.

Without a doubt, the top player in the state of South Carolina for the class of 2010. He rushed for 300 yards and 4 TD's in the state championship game this year as a junior! And Byrnes plays at the 4A level, so he's playing against top high schools across the state. They even go out of state and play teams every year. He's what Rivals will likely rank 5 stars and call a "franchise player."

Rumor has it Byrnes will play 3 out of state teams next yr. South Lake Caroll, Don Bosco, & South Panola.

We've discussed this some in the "Jaques Smith is rated 5star on Rivals 2010 " thread. Yeah, getting Lattimore would be great but I don't think he's interested in TN. Of course, he has his senior year to change his mind, especially if govols/cc figures out a way to buddy up to him (maybe save his life and earn a favor or something).

BTW, govols/cc, I live 10-15 minutes up the road in Greer (near Greer High).

Lattimore has been a lifelong gamecock fan but I wouldnt be surprised if he ended up at LSU. He's showing a lot of interest there.

I live just about 20 mins from the Duncan area. I've seen Byrnes play several times the past couple of years and Lattimore is for real. I think that Korn is trying to sway him to be a Tiger.

Hes kind of a toss up right now. He wants to play in the sec & wants to play on a team with a good o-line & strong run game. His sis goes to usc so they might have a slight edge but to be honest they havent recruited him that hard at least not yet. Clemson is prob the only non sec school with a realistic shot.
