Kid looks sick, I am going to go on a limb and say CoachO got this kid! Love how he scores then walks off the field without showboating! Great pick-up, and I eat my crow for being concerned a LITTLE about recruiting! CLK and CEO have it all under control!

Looks like a good pickup to me. He could end up being a good CB. Excellent speed. Everything else can be developed & coached.

For example: Bama's all-SEC CB Javier Arenas was even smaller than Dixon and only had offers from FL Atlantic and FL Int'l until Bama scooped him up late in the recruiting year. There are other examples of under the radar recruits who are starting for Bama this season.

So you never know. Obviously CLK and CEO like what they see in him.

i agree with MrBamaSeydu about the star thing. I think many people forget what players are 5 stars. Yes there are good, and great 2-3 star players, but more good, and great 4-5 star players.

I still hope we get Robey. I do however think this kid is electric.

Thigpen was a RB who stays injured... alot. I think he was hurt in both his JR an SR years and has already been injured at UCLA.

So it's better to take a kid who's only played 1 season of football period? How do you know he's not injury prone given that amount of time playing HS football?

Thigpen was recruited as an ATH. We would've moved him into the secondary and given him shots at KR/PR if we wanted to keep him. He's also about 2" shorter than Dixon if you want to go tick for tack. I was just making a comparison.

Glad to get a DB. Funny how coming into this year I was cool with us taking 1 or 0 DB's because I felt we were pretty deep. Crazy how things change in 4 months time.

That's cause he is just now garnering attention, he will get offers from better schools here soon and we will end up having to work to keep him.

I love the fact our staff doesn't just look at stars. They look at their talent. There are soo many great 3 star players who have so much potential. Dexter McCluster was a 3 star. so was Greg King, Toney Williams a lot of good players! Even Chris Johnson was a 2 star and he's rushing for 2,000 yards with the Titans
