No matter how folks try to spin it, this falls directly at the feet of this coaching staff. They've misused the kid for years, and he's still managed to get a ton of yards. You tailor your scheme to fit your players, not vice-versa. That's why a lot of coaches coach circles around Butch and this staff. Absolutely disgraceful.

I have absolutely no respect for Vol74. He is part of the problem with all the drama. And if what he said is true - then more than likely Hurd is injured and realized he wasn't going to play anymore this year with the injury anyway.

Good for him. It's clear Butch thinks more highly of his schemes than he does of player development. Looks like Butch's bluff was called. Smart business decision 1 - Butch's stubbornness 0.

You absolutely do NOT tailor your scheme for ONE player unless it is the QB and then you have to be careful. You just don't do that.

This offense is the type of offense that most major colleges and most NFL teams run.

I believe they tried to let him play the position he wanted to play and if there is any mistake that was it.

Flame away at me for this, I don't care. Win, lose, or draw, you're a player, he's the coach. DO WHAT THE COACH TELLS YOU TO DO! It's not rocket science and starts in little league. If your ego is that fragile then playing ball at this level is going to get a lot tougher for you.

Man what a dumpster fire started in K-Town. I don't blame Jalen at all he would be Heisman runner at Bama no doubt in my mind.

Yup, I put it at the feet of Jones as well. If it went down the way that was said I have no support left for jones and hope he is on the first bus ride out of Knoxville. How you treat your players, especially your stars who have destroyed themselves for wins for you, will follow you wherever you go.

I know. Asking your tailback to rush the football is just terrible misuse. I can't imagine Saban using a similar tailback like Derek Henry to do the same thing.

I love it when people post lunacy like this but never explain how they think he was misused.
