Good to see you, Neo. I think most people knew when they saw us running out of the I in the bowl game what we were doing/ trying. I just wish that they would have been honest with him if they never planned on deviating from their scheme - ever.

Hurd took an absolute beating and stuck it out. I wish for his sake he would have transferred last year. Butch has managed to squander an absolute stud running back. I hope jalen heals up and has a long pro career

In a better scheme where he was given a few steps to gain momentum he breaks the records easily and many games ago.

He has also never once bad mouthed UT in public or to anyone I know.

First I met him/ introduced to him, I thanked him for committing to TN and told him it will be players like him that bring us back.

His family is a class act. They are good people.

If people think that he has not given everything on the field then that is on them. This coach and coaching staff have not reciprocated the desire to win at all cost like I am sure all of these players on this team possess. You can see it in how the offense operates. There is no creativity and opposing defenses have a field day with it. The only reason Tennessee has won this year is because of having the athletes. However, the scheme has failed the players. This whole season has Just not seemed right since game 1.

Well I hope the players win out for themselves -- I hope Dobbs changes the plays that clown Debord calls on every effing down --- what are they going to do bench him ?

Why wouldn't Jalen just finish out the season on the injured list and then transfer? Why quit with 4 games to go? Looks bad on UT and makes him look like a quitter too.

Why did Hurd even come here if he was concerned about running from the shotgun?

Butch has run the same system at every stop, it wasn't some secret.

And it's not like Hurd has sucked in the system, he was on pace to set the UT rushing record.

This all just sounds utterly ridiculous to me. Skipping out on the NFL is one thing. Transferring is another. Switching positions?

That's ridiculous.

He gets a pass if it is true Butch promised him a scheme change. And since its 8 games in and no change, why hang around?

Just wondering was Hurd hurt before the Georgia game or did is injury happen when strolled in the endzone thinking he was going to score when he got his clocked clean.If that's the case he got hurt not going full speed.

Vol74 if you would I want you to thank jalen for me for everything he has done for this university. I will cheer for jalen in the NFL just like I do/did for pm,eb, and every other Val in the league

74 I want to say that I for one love Jalen Hurd and his efforts here and I can understand his frustrations as our offensive staff have shown their unability to utilize guys based on their individual skill sets.. I hate to hear this..

74 Would you answer one question for me just out of curiosity.. Were most of Jalens offers out of HS to play Tailback or did some of the better offers he held try to sell him on playing TE or H BACK role?? I just wonder how much those things factored in his decision..

Of all the players Butch has recruited, Hurd was my favorite. I remember watching him run the ball in Norman and turning to tell the Oklahoma fans that he was a true freshman - gushing with pride that our Tennessee native son looked to be the real deal. I often marveled that he was able to get positive yards even though he was hit in the backfield every play thanks to a Swiss cheese O-line

If his career at UT is over, I want to thank him for choosing us and helping turn things around. He helped make the fans believe. We knew he was a rare talent -- it's a shame we never got to see what he could do here in an offense that better fit his skills. Hopefully he recovers from his injuries and is able to do that in the NFL some day.

The scheme that Jones is running is the same scheme he has run everywhere he has coached. It is not like it is any secret to anyone, and I don't see him changing it for one player.

Hate giving a gator A like but this one has two of mine this year sorry to say. But when he's right he's right. If Hurd or any other player leaves like that, they just about ruin any chance they have in the NFL draft, i.e. a 1st or 2nd rounder would go in 4th or later rounds if at all as an example.
