Mannings mooning incident on ESPN.

Well at this point there are few straws to reach for . I say do not settle . No more cards left to play in the media and not a leg to stand on in court.

That would be my strategy exactly. They have played all of their cards.

Have to wonder if this is not residue from eliminating the Lady Vols moniker. Every since this mess has started I have eliminated anything "Lady Vols" from my viewing or sports menu.

Sad part is that Around the Horn and Pardon the Interruption has made this 20 year old incidents a major part of thier show today. So much BS

ESPN is so political. I have only watched games on their stations for years. Journalist try to mold the face of sports to their ideology. In reality, they are ruining athletics.

In the initial lawsuit, Jamie Naughright said, under oath, that Peyton Manning pulled down his pants and exposed himself to her as she was treating his foot. She did not claim physical contact. Her story changed and the act became more egregious in subsequent lawsuits, when she was attempting to secure more lucrative settlements. Her testimony wouldn't hold up in court, which is why she always settles. File, settle, deposit check. The strategy has worked well for her.

I wish it had just been a "mooning". Unfortunately, it was much more than that.
Mooning was just a cover story made up by, former UT trainer, Mike Rollo.
That story fell apart very quickly when the matter came to light in court and the alleged "moonee" admitted that he was never mooned by Peyton.
Tea-bagging, as it's referred to by most folks, is actually what happened to the female doctor and that consists of physical contact - a form of sexual assault. It might be best if Peyton would just fess up to the whole incident and get on with putting it behind him once and for all. Once the whole sordid story is laid out in public, thoroughly examined and discussed by the media ad infinitum, and eventually smoothed over, it will be well on its way to becoming ancient history and nothing more than a footnote in the legendary career of one of the best there ever was in college and the pros. It might also help get UT past the current cloud of controversy that's hovering overhead in light of more recent events.

He can't discuss it. He signed a non-disclosure. How many times does he have to pay the woman to put it behind him?

There is nothing new to this story that hasn't been said before. Peyton played an immature prank at the age of 20. He took responsibility in his book and got sued a second time. The woman got paid (TWICE).

I don't know if he actually made contact with the women's face, seeing as how her story changed 6 years after the fact, but by both versions of the story, mooning vs teabagging, it was intended as a prank. He did not force himself on her in a sexual manner or physically harm her in any way.

Manning just needs to ignore it. Let it run its course this week and it will be relegated back to his personal history bad judgment.

I agree that he should ignore it. I also think that someone on his behalf (maybe his agent Tom Condon) needs to make sure that the press is well aware of the trainer's frivolous 2010 lawsuit against Donna Karan. That completely undermines the narrative that Shaun King tried to spin.

It has been Trash the Mannings Monday on ESPN. Peyton, Archie, Eli, Ashley-- all were pilloried. I wonder if they'll dig up something on Cooper and Olivia-- maybe the grandkids-- and rake them over the coals tomorrow?

As regards the current case, I would like to point out that the Peyton Manning case occurred about 20 years ago. There was a different football coach, different Athletic Director and different Chancellor at Tennessee at that time. That case went to court and was settled. How that has any bearing on the current case escapes me, they apparently just wanted to put a big name in the current case for effect. Also, people like this Shaun King keep calling the Manning case sexual assault. Sexual assault is a criminal offense, yet there were no criminal charges ever placed in this case. Sexual harassment is a civil offense, which is how this case was tried. People need to quit trying to make it out to be something that it wasn't.

:good!:

yall are defending peyton blindly and it's pretty disgusting.

I don't think I have made a single post on this topic. But why shouldn't he get the benefit of the doubt? Why is there this guilty until innocent attitude? Why are we taking the word of a woman who has been involved in over 5 lawsuits (2 against Peyton, 1 against UT, and 2 others which were dismissed) over his word? Especially considering on the signed affidavit she stated he "exposed" himself. That's a hell of a lot different than putting his junk on her face.

Most are defending him when it comes to the most serious of the allegations and how the 20 year old incident is currently being characterized and framed by the media but I don't see how you can call it "blindly". The facts have been discussed and debated and the general conclusion reached is that he did behave in a crude, juvenile and stupid manner but it also doesn't merit this rehashing. Members of the media are telling one side of the story as framed by someone who has integrity issues himself (Shaun King). The history of litigation by Jamie Naughright is also relevant and should be vetted. The media wants to portray a clear cut, black and white story involving a completely innocent victim and a malicious perpetrator. That simply doesn't apply here.

Well Manning was free to tell his side of the story...that is until he pursued to have the records sealed.

Well Manning was free to tell his side of the story...that is until he pursued to have the records sealed.

"Naughright has an extensive history of filing repetitive lawsuits against or involving public figures, apparently having spent the majority of eight years (1998 throught 2005) filing legal complaints against or about Peyton Manning... (some of which) had no basis in law or fact and were fueled only by Naughright's relentless search for revenge." ----- a court filing from an attorney representing fashion designer Donna Karan in defense of the frivolous civil lawsuit filed against her by Jamie Naughright in November of 2010 that was later dismissed.

That is the best side of Peyton Manning's story that there could possibly be and it has been in the public realm for over 4 years.... the media just isn't looking for it because it doesn't fit their desired narrative.

Peyton is an adult. I am sure he is capable of communicating for himself that the alleged "tea bagging" incident was not as bad as it is being portrayed...if he wants to say that under oath that is.

He doesn't have to. Donna Karan's lawyer said it for him.

This frivolous lawsuit Naughright filed against Donna Karan will eventually get out. It is too easy to find: just Google "Jamie Naughright Donna Karan"... it's all over the place.

Peyton is working on a new commercial....turns out, his perfect woman is three feet tall with a flat head on which he sets his Budweiser.

Leave it to Peytie Pie to turn it into a money making opportunity.

This is getting ridiculous. This happened almost 20 years ago. My gosh, a women is complaining about seeing a guy's genital. My advice, "STAY THE HELL out of the Men's locker room. Heck if a man was in the women's locker room, he would be in jail. I feel about as sorry for this woman as I do for those idiot Americans stuck in North Korea. Sometimes in life, you get exactly what you deserve..:loco::crazy:
