Peyton and Eli didn't get to where they are by not wanting to beat the other. Neither is afraid of competition.

I've always rooted for them half-heartedly unless they were playing the Colts. If they sign my boy, I'll probably be Titan for life. I can understand why Titans fans wouldn't like that but it is what it is. I wanted to be a Titans fan, but I was a Peyton Manning fan before the Titans existed.

Huge Titans Fan here. They're my number 1 sports team, yes over the Vols. I have hated Peyton while he's been with the colts due to the annual rivalry as well as the bandwagon local Colts' fans. If you say you're not then just look at the people talking about being Titan fans now instead of Colts' fans. But I would rather not sign Peyton so we could develop Locker.

I definitely understand the ownership's thinking on signing him. You're getting the best qb that's played the game. You might get 2 to 3 good years out of him if he's healthy. You become an instant contender, and you get a bunch of new fans from the state and around the country. You go from being a small market team to being on the major games on sundays and sunday nights. I would say monday night but that's become a joke like sunday night used to be before nbc got rights to it.

I was a HUGE Titans fan when they had McNair.

...but then when he went to the Ravens I became a HUGE Baltimore fan. GO RAVENS!! 4 LIFE!!!

In college football I am all vols NFL has always been different thow I find my self liking lots of teams and I rooted for the titans when air McNair played even against the colts. I also like the bills the giants the cowboys the falcons the patriots it has always been hard to like just one team. Hasslebeck was hard to watch and like the titans would rather see locker led titans . but I am all titans now with manning and locker for him to groom can't wait . :fireworks:

I didn't mean to infer that they were afraid of competition, I'm just saying I wouldn't want to play my brother, in the playoffs, unless it were the Super Bowl.

You may be right and this might not be a factor at all, but the Manning family seems close, and an All-Manning Super Bowl would make enhance the Manning name to a level never seen. Regardless, I just want him back home.
