Manning to Denver

Maybe, maybe not. Maybe Uf will slide back to their pre-90's form as well.

Scientists tell us that there is no physical law (only probability) that says all of the oxygen molecules could notwind up on the other side of the room leaving someone to suffocate in a room full of air. About the same probability as the Gators backsliding to current UT levels. Why not quit while you are behind, DJ? I don't wish Peyton or UT ill unless they are playing the Gators.

The bonafides of the Mannings and of the Tebows are each impeccable. Hating on either is pointless. So why not stop?

You're right. Tebow was a very good system QB in college. But a terrible and I repeat TERRIBLE pro QB. Peyton Manning was a great QB in college and is a first ballot hall of famer in the NFL.

How many people in Minnesota are still wearing Favre jerseys? Manning should've retired or restructured and stayed a Colt. jmo

He wants to play football and can still play. Why would he quit? He had a deal with the Colts, they cut him to rebuild. He handled with class and I hope he plays great.

Bingo. If the colts still wanted him, they could have had him. he was always willing to restructure his deal. The colts decided to cut bait. Not his fault. No reason for him to retire if he still wants to play

100% agree

better get some weapons around him eric decker might be his best wr lol

thomas is of course but after that :eek:lol:

and the rb situation bad in indy? wait till he sees denver

honestly i dont get it the denver but they got some old guys champ? dawkins? when they gone that defenses turns to very regurlar

....under the circumstances this is a well though out decision by Peyton.
1) Denver had the most room under the salary cap to pay him.
2) Elway will be the support system that Peyton will need to make the transition. In a real sense Peyton will answer to Elway not John Fox who has no experience with highly talented QB's. When you sign Peyton Manning you also get an offensive coordinator.
3) Finally, Denver has enough talent to get to the playoffs.....Peyton can do the rest.

All 3 finalists would have paid him the same.
All 3 finalists would have turned ther offense over to him.

From everything I have read it was 80% money and 20% Elway. The Titans front office just wasn't all in like Elway was. Bud might have wanted to bet the bank, but the rest of the organization was a little more cautious after Bud's Vince Young deal went south.

Since this is speculation I'll argue that it didn't matter what the rest of the organization thought. Bud can do whatever he wants within NFL guidelines. I don't buy your 80/20 theory as Manning would have chosen San Fran if that were true. Money would have been about the same AND he would have been on the 2nd place NFC team with all the pieces to be considered #1 this year. This decision was, much more, about comfort along with the $.

FWIW, NFL players in Tn don't pay a state income tax..Simple math would tell you the same money in Tn would be much more than the same money he would make in either San Fran or Denver who do have that tax..Money was not the issue..SEVERAL reporters close to this situation with the Titans say Manning wanted the freedom Elway would allow him as opposed to a system with the Titans that would be based on Chris Palmer's desire to feature Chris Johnson and a short passing game with OCCASIONAL deep passes to keep defenses honest, and that was not what he wanted...Bud would have payed whatever to get Peyton but Munchak and staff actually thought he would set them back from what they are trying to establish as their identity...TIFWIW
