Manning to coach Vols in 5/6 years?

I just heard:
-that Dane Bradshaw and Chris Lofton will take Pearls place once Lofton's pro career is over and Dane gets tired of playing overseas.
- That Eric Ainge will be Mannings QB coach
- That Fulmer will replace Hamilton as AD and that Hamilton will replace Slive as SEC commisioner
- That Eli will replace Houston Knutt after this weeks playoff loss
- That Memphis is replacing BBQ with BEER and Brats and that Green Bay is replacing Beer and Brats with BBQ as the official tailgating food.
- That the Sports Illistraited network will replace ESPN as Americas sports Television leader
- That Nascar is replacing their drivers with remote controlled cars for saftey and the top ten finalist in the EA sports Nascar challenge will receive the 1st ten remotes and sponsorships.

That Manning ever coaching instead of broadcasting at the end of is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

As many Qb camps that Peyton has I wouldnt be surprised at all if he coached....but it won't be for at least 10 years

Good players rarely make good coaches. Their expectations are too high for the job due to their own success.

Is this a backhand at Isaiah Thomas? You're wrong, I think the Knicks are going to win a championship with Isaiah at the helm.

Maybe I'm wrong too, but I too think Manning may be coaching here in the future after retirement from the NFL. He shocked most of us by coming back his senior year and makes several appearances through the year to help the program. He loves the University and football is his life. It's been his life since he was a child. After his NFL playing career is over, he will need football in his life and UT will be the easiest first step for him IMO.

Actually he has no plans to coach. I don't know if he meant forever or what? I was at a dinner with him a few years ago. Said he wanted to get into motivational speaking after he retires. Kinda like Lou Holtz.

A coach gets to do a motivational speech at least once a week.

Manning wants to be in Politics once his playing career is done from what I have heard from a family friend.

I would love for him to be our head coach. Hopefully our AD will pursue him HARD once he retires from the league. But knowing our coach, Manning with no college coaching experience would be asked to be a Grad Asst. or TE coach.

For the record, I think discussing Manning as the next coach at Tennessee is ridiculous.

However, a couple of points:

1. "Knowing our coach..." - Fulmer will probably retire from coaching by the time Manning retires from the league...

2. Come on...a grad assistant or tight ends coach?? Do you really think that anyone @ UT would tell Peyton Manning that he needs to work as a grad assistant in order to join the staff?

Peyton can't motivationally speak, like Holtz...he doesn't have a lisp. :post-4-1090547912:

I figure Manning probably has another 7-10 years left to his NFL career, unless he chooses to hang it up sooner than that. I strongly suspect Fulmer will be gone not long after he wins his 174th career victory; the guy has a sense of history and that would keep him in the UT record books forever.

If there's another championship on the way to 174, Dave Clawson might be the next coach. It's not going to be Manning, ever. He'd be in an impossible situation if he ever tried to coach at UT. First time he lost to the Gators, you know what would be said...
