Just curious, why do you hate Tom Brady?
hm...let's see.
In ofder of importance:
1. he and the pats beat the steelers in two AFC championship games.
2. he and the pats beat the panthers in the superbowl
3. he and the patriots have been a thorn in Manning's side and have been the primary foe for him to be labled "can't win the big one".

anymore questions?

The whole "if ______ played for _______ he would have (or wouldn't have) accomplished _____" theory is just plain annoying. _______ didn't play for ______, so quit saying it.

How about the old "tuck rule" situation. If you want to play an "if", would the Patriots/Tom Brady where they are today "if" they were knocked out of their first Superbowl by the Raiders?

Good point. The Pats only made their 1st Super Bowl trip because of that call. Gotta be one of the worst calls in NFL history !

I'm talking about in the Tom Brady era, not the Steve Grogan era. I guess I should have been more specific.

Statistically, Manning is already a top ten QB of all time statistically. Manning has much better stats than Brady, including the fact Manning has been around 2 more years. Manning (stat wise) will own Montana in a couple years. Quit treating Montana like he was a God already, he had Jerry Rice. How hard could it possibly be.

I believe the lack of a salary cap was a greater advantage to Montana than having the dancer.

Who knows ? maybe not the other 2, but my point is they wouldn't have 3 SB rings if they only made it to 2 SBs. In the Tom Brady era that is. :)

You got to figure that first Super Bowl for Brady gave him and the team a lot of momentum and confidence for the other two Super Bowls.

As a former Dolphins fan (in the era of Griese and Mercury Morris), I implore you and all others to stop using Dan Marino as a gauge for greatness in quarterbacks. That's like judging automobiles relative to a Honda Civic. Great mechanically, but not going to catch anyone's eye as the best dadgum car around.

Best I remember he is in "The hall" so he must be in the mix and he has the stats. I think he has to be in the top 2 at this point.

So much momentum infact that they missed the playoffs the following year.

Another reason for hating Tom Brady, i believe it was something like, "Anyone who has seen Florida play knows that they are just not a very good football team." As much as i hate Florida, that has got to be one of the dumbest quotes ever.

That was pretty good, in retrospect of course.

Although I can't say that gives me a reason to hate Brady. LG, perhaps, since Brady dared to not worship the ground on which a Florida team walked.

Sounds like he was just another buffoon campaigning for an Ohio State-Michigan rematch. That needs to be brought up again. I don't think the people calling for that NC matchup can ever consume enough crow. Ever.

Johnny Unitas
290 TD's, 253 Int's, 40,239 yards
1 Super Bowl, 1 NFL Championship

Something else to remember, during the first half of Unitas's career, teams played only 12 regular season games and the NFL championship game. Second half 14 games, 2 playoff games, Superbowl. Games played should definitely be considered when calling somebody the greatest ever or all-time stats leader.

(But I think Peyton will eventually prove to be the best ever....just not now. Unitas is still #1 IMO.)
