I'm kind of skeptical he ever said anything, but I may be wrong. The first mention of it here was based on an ESPN lead-in that stated that a "Tennessee legend's" comments about the Kiffin situation would be coming up next, with some people assuming it was Manning. Turns out it was Pat Summitt.

104.5 Nashville was talking about it this morning. They were saying Peyton was pushing Cutcliffe prety hard but didn't say what his comments were after the fact.

Manning is very smart. He is well respected. It would be in his best Intrest to keep his mouth shut especially If he disagrees what kiffin did to his school. He really didnt say much when kiffin was hired either. I do believe he supported him in a statement bc he had to. If manning said no that he didnt support him then that would put a huge strain on kiffin or any other coach that was at UT. Do ya think manning would really come out and bash kiffin? No!!! Remember manning is the face of the NFL and the poster Child of UT football. We may never really know what manning thinks. Manning will keep quiet and continue to show loyalty to the program by talking to the players especially the QB's and continue to donate a million dollars to the athletics program. Peyton has no intrest in giving an opinion to the media that would possibly hurt his university he loves and cares for.

Perfectly stated.

I don't have a link, but a local newsman told me in person that although Peyton liked Cutcliffe he was pushing Hamilton to hire Dooley. Take it for what it's worth. I am glad he hired Dooley.

If this is true then it just goes to show how smart he is! Tn needs new younger blood. The old guys cant coach anymore!! Cutcliff was only good at developing QB's. Thats it!!! We dodged a bulliet by him staying put.

He's concerned about winning the Super Bowl not some asswipe college coach that's a legend in his own mind.

Wonder if Mark wishes he had been a #1 draft pick, and made a lot more money by going to a crappy team?

And then still won a Super Bowl...

Nah, I'm pretty sure he's content with the #5 overall pick, lots of money, playing in New York, and leading his team to the AFC CG as a rookie.

Dirty Sanchez is the main reason the J-E-T-S are in the title game, not their number one defense and number one running game. It was his 12-20 TD-INT ratio that 'led' them there.

"I'm looking forward to Kiffin jumping ship to the NFL soon, so I can beat the &%$@ out of him."

That's what I'd be thinking, at least.

EDIT: @Trojan Warrior, the Jets are in the AFC championship game in spite of Mark Sanchez's best efforts to keep them out. Kudos to the rest of the team.
