Manning linked to HGH by Documentary (key witness has recanted)

Wow! So much there to work with. But I think I'm just going to leave it alone.

I will say that in reading many of the posts, the impression I got was that some were saying AJ is not credible and some were saying it is. One side arguing that the other side ended-up being right, but for the wrong reason, seems a little bit like sour grapes.

Right is right. By God.

Kind of depends on if your interest is in winning an argument on a message board or in determining the truth.

I think that Peyton Manning is a person of integrity and if he said it's BS, then I'll take his word for it. As for media outlets these days, integrity doesn't govern them. Sensationalism does.

why instead of "or" can't it be "and" :)

Peyton said he didn't do it. Until someone proves otherwise I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. I just can't see him doing this or lying about it. That opinion is certainly biased due to my fanhood. But someone is going to prove to me that PM did this before I believe it. There is no such thing as unbiased reporting now a days.

Well he did re-write the record book in '13. Not linking this to any wrong-doing but Manning's numbers from '12-14 were 3 of his better years. :)

With much reduced arm strength and no feeling in his fingers. If he used HGH? Helluva advantage! :)

Your "bias" is not based solely on your fandom. Peyton has a body of work that is exposed to the public in a manner most people can't even imagine. Ask the people of Indianapolis or Denver or Knoxville what they think of him. Straight up.

Sadly that fact is precisely what makes this story so enticing to the media. They do love tearing down someone who has shown himself to be a class act for his entire career. Anyone who has watched his career has to think this is terribly out of character for him. The media has a lot to gain by running with this even if it turns out to be BS. While i recognize my bias it's not the only thing driving my opinion.

Dungy was vouching for him on TV just now. My intuition says it can't be true but I'm going to steer well clear of saying anything for certain. This was all part of a much larger piece with many other players named (about 1/2 the packers for instance). Big parts of it are almost certainly true. I just hope the Manning parts turn out to be false.

Why should some parts be true? The guy admitted to making up everything...he wasn't even there in 2011 when Peyton allegedly got the HGH

Yeah, some would love for this to be true, but they're wasting their time on this one. Brick wall here. It would be like attacking Archie.

As I look around the internet, it is surprising how many people think HGH is a steroid. Ignorance is fueling a lot of the interest in this. I've read so many message boards posts which say that Peyton must have been "juiced" in '12 and '13. That's not what he was even accused of.

Of course it's false. The guy already said he lied and made up the story.

Mr. Sly told ESPN’s Chris Mortenson that he was purposely dropping famous names and giving false information to Mr. Collins in order to “determine whether this guy was legitimate or just trying to steal some knowledge about the business.”

Mr. Sly said he was a pharmacy intern in 2013 at the Guyer Institute in Indianapolis, where Mr. Manning received treatment for an injury in 2011. The Al Jazeera report identifies Mr. Sly as a pharmacist.

“When I was there, I had never seen the Mannings ever. They were not even living there at that time,” Mr. Sly said. “Someone who worked there said they had been there before. That was the extent of any knowledge I had. I feel badly. I never saw any files. This is just amazing that it reached this point.”

My God I feel so bad for Peyton. ESPN needs to make this their headline instead of just saying HE is denying it.

I call BS. There is no ignorance on a message board.

This story needs to go away!

it's well on its way..no longer trending on Twitter, HuffPost has moved on to attacking Clayton Homes and predatory lending on indian reservations, and ESPN pretty much said that dude lied..one day story imo

That's good and I hope Peyton doesn't sue over it. That will just revive it.

GA and I were on the same page, so I'm wondering which mod is the genius that doesn't know what "linked" means.

For one, he had a fridge full of HGH. He was selling it to somebody. For two, he recanted everything because he's now facing prison and doesn't want to go to jail. Forgive me for being skeptical of both his original claims which sounded a lot like name dropping and his total denial. For three, that interview I saw with Dungy included the information that the clinic's employee records at least had him on file in 2011 according to a reporter. I'm not sure what to make of all that, but it certainly doesn't make the whole thing false.
