What, I watch that show all of the time. I haven't been this upset since I found out there was no Santa Clause. Oh well, at least they have nothing on Survivorman.

I suspected it for a while, now it's only confirmed. Man vs Wild has a fake look to it (punt intended), while Survivor Man just seemed real.

They should have an episode where he tries to survive by living on minimum wage and selling used rock t-shirts on e-bay. I'd watch it.

Better yet, if you want a real survivor show.. Drop a white dude with a do rag on and a G-Unit t-shirt off in South East DC . Lets see if he can get out. :)

Gimme an ammo back pack and ak-47, a shoulder holstered 4'' barrel nickle plate 44 magnum, 2 40 caliber glocks 1 on each outer thigh, 20 he gp grenades, a confederate battle flag dew rag, 100% immunity and I'll make it outta se DC if someone wants to put up some 7 figure money. :)

When he acted like he was roughing it, he was sometimes staying in luxurious hotels. His "deserted Island" show was filmed in Hawaii. A ton of people are mad about this.

I really like the discovery channel
this is a shame

So he stays in hotels some nights, big deal? To discredit a former SAS Operative as well as the youngest Brit to reach the summit of Mt. Everest, simply because he likes to sleep in nice hotels while he is not busting brush through a rain forest or eating sheep eyes in Northern Europe is pretty ridiculous.

I'll never be able to watch the show the same way again.

Ridiculous would be the word- especially since he discredited himself. He intentionally misled people. Being in the service doesn't give anybody a free pass. In fact, it out to raise the standards people judge you by. Unfortunately, America has never felt that way- the reason why we've consistently blocked war crimes measures in the UN.

The guy committed fraud. His past just makes him a bigger disappointment.

I couldn't ever get into the show due to the camera crew.
I prefer Les Stroud because he's out there by himself.

I do give credit to Grylls though. The guy eats meat right off of a dead zebra.......or that was one big chicken.

Survivor Man:rock:

Survivor Man sucks.

I like Man vs. Wild. I did tell my wife in the beginning that I was sure his camera crew had really nice tents and plenty of supplies and that he got in with them after the filming stopped. But I still like the show.

I think most people figured this, doesn't mean the show is any less entertaining though.

I wouldn't watch either strictly on survival, but Survivorman is just so boring. The few times I've seen it, Les usually bitches about hauling his camera equipment (about 20x a show), has had very little or crappy food to eat, and basically can't sleep all night cause his shelters suck or are nonexistent. MvW is very entertaining, humorous, and the tips he does offer are good, and some of them are simple and memorable, or as a repeated theme, so you do gain some knowledge from the show.

.....and you people want to talk about wrestling! atleast they don't try to hide the fact that its fake!

......seriously though, what reality show isn't set up to some degree?

Don't forget that he was a Leigonairre in (i believe) the 2nd Parachute Regiment. That was my goal, but my Lasik has disqualified me.

So people honestly though that the cameraman was surviving like Bear was? People actually thought that the whole thing was real?

I think he does a good job of showing basic survival techniques, that might actually help your average fat pasty skinned american live more than 2 days in hard conditions.

I don't believe AT ALL with your statement that those who have worn the uniform should be held to a higher standard, nor to a lower standard. I experienced hostile fire on 2 continents, and have been arrested once for Driving under the Influence. Should i be imprisoned, while the guy who sells crack and can't hold a job long enough to get health insurance who gets a DUI, be freed?

Let's Invade Pakistan, Lefties. The blatent disrespect for all things military really gets me mad.

man, I heard about this Friday night at the bar, and I defended him with my last ounce of...whatever I had a lot of. Too bad, I read before this the camera crew left each night to get more film and recharge the cameras, that is why most of the shots of bear at night are with a small hand held.

I still love the show and will continue to watch, just hate to hear people complain about it

I'll still be a viewer I just dont like that he misled people. I assumed the camera crew was elsewhere at night but them intentionally show him talking about how bad of a night sleep he's getting and stuff when really he's really about to go off to some 4 star hotel is annoying. Its still crazy all the stunts he does and his survival skills, but really would it have been that much harder for him to just sleep out there for the 2 or 3 nights and have avoided this whole damaging scandal.

Hey, that's my home for the time being. And I will say that it is one of the most friendly neighborhoods that I have ever lived in.
It is all relative, but I chose to live in Alexandria (without the bruning cars). Now I live in the ghetto of Chattanooga.

I spent my first 8 years here between Arlington and Alexandria. Just moved into the city a couple years ago. Never thought that I would like it, but you can't beat the commute! And, so far, no burning cars...my truck was stolen a couple of times...
