You know, back before I knew VN.com existed, I'd stand around the proverbial water cooler the day after the game, talking through the good, the bad and the ugly with a few like-minded Orange Bleeders. It was always great to have folks to chew it over with.

But this, this is like standing at the water cooler with a couple of hundred friends, having 20 different conversations at once. This is the 5-Hour-Energy with a Cocaine Chaser version of the water cooler morning-after.

Absolutely love it, even on a bad day. Thanks for existing, VolNation.com. :good!:

Seeing that this is now officially the only corner of the internet I can go to without being goaded and laughed at by opposing fanbases/analysts, VN is like a little bit of a safe haven even with all of the crazies.

Never glad to have VN around more than I am now.

Today is much better than any day after a game Dooley coached. Maybe because we won but this place was almost unbearable during that time.

Meth, acid, coke, xanax, with a couple of tequila chasers to start your morning off right on VN after a game, knock down a Red Bull to make all that behave and you pretty much have it! LOL

Probably not, McDad, seems we're pretty thoroughly analyzing this game en masse already. I mean, we have at least 1 or 2 threads covering each and every possible talking point. JRM's ejection? check. Sutton's fumble? check. Defensive performance and Shoop's adjustments? check. Dobbs? check, check, and check a few more times. DeBord? check and checkity-check. Hurd? Oh yeah, check. OL? You betcha, check. Special Teams? In about four different directions, check. How the game will affect our ranking? check. What about next week? check.

I can't think of a single thing we'd have to talk about that isn't already covered somewhere on this molten-lava board! And we haven't even yet gotten OMG's awesome day-after thread yet.

Hehe, it's a busy morning on VN.com, that's for sure.

In a few days, I probably will break down how the conferences fared OOC, over in the Around the NCAA forum.

But I think we got Vols - App State pretty much blanketed. :)

I haven't had much chance this morning to go through most of the threads. Has there been one discussing the reversed call on the Smith catch/non-catch after UT had already run a play? FTR, I don't think Smith caught the ball, but I didn't see an explanation by the ref during the game as to how there were able to review a play after another play had been ran. I would assume the officials would have to say that they had already whistled stoppage before UT snapped the ball, but never saw that explanation, so am not sure if was ever later clarified.

Yeah, Ivan, there are a couple. One more focused on the catch / non-catch, and another more focused on the Pandora's Box opened by reviewing a play from 2 snaps ago. Both threads cover both ideas, of course. Do a search for Josh Smith and official review and I think you'll find both pretty qucikly, or just scan down the titles.

p.s. Neither of those threads answers your question. I'm not sure anyone outside the SEC officials' office can, yet.

Vol catches pass. Vol puts foot down in end zone while having complete possession of ball. That's a TD. Meets the requisites. Now, if, after this, a defender knocks Vol off balance, and Vol falls to ground, and the ground causes the ball to come loose out of bounds, this is moot. TD has already transpired and should be called as such. Officials blew that call in the game, and Brent Mussburger is too far gone to be in the booth. Amen, and pass the pretzels.

Thanks. First time I ever remember that happening. I would have thought it at least deserved an explanation by the refs since it is their job to step in and stop a play before the offense can run it if they want to review the previous play.

Yeah, I'm hoping to see some kind of mention of it by either the SEC officials or the NCAA in the next several days.

Seems to me they've opened a big huge door that they really didn't want to open, and that they'd be trying pretty hard over the coming week to slam it shut, lock it, padlock it, throw a big piece of furniture in front of it, and then start nailing it shut.

How does everyone feel about a guy/gal living and obviously working in Alabama watching a Vol game on tv perhaps remotely at home, taking their sweet time to "review" and overrule any call on the field??? Hell I can see a guy with his tray table set up in his living room full of Bammer family and friends saying "Hey watch this one" and halting an SEC meaningful game to assist an agenda taking place in Birmingham. Lots of transparency needs to take place after what I saw last night in my opinion before I trust what has taken place so far.

I like that VN changes me.
For instance, yesterday morning I was a 10-2 pessimistic negavol.
This morning, I'm a this "should be a good wake-up call I believe we go 10-2" unrealistic sunshine pumper.

My prediction didn't change, I don't feel any different, yet apparently I had a complete personality overhaul.

Guilty!
Maybe it's age, but I just don't have really strong reactions anymore.
The last time I overreacted to something, I saw Virginia Tech beat Ohio State and decided that Ohio state was going to have a horrible season.

Promised myself then, I was just going to take things one week at a time from there on out.
We see it with several big teams every year. Don't know what causes it, most likely a different circumstance for each game.
But this is mostly the same team that played so great last year. Vs this one game so far this year.
I can't help but want to wait for more data before drawing a conclusion.
