if Malzahn was our OC do we still lose to Auburn?

By making sure UT had a terrible offense that kept the UT defense on the field far longer than any defense ever should.

Your sorry agenda is getting old, Griff.

You are a disgrace to journalists everywhere.

They were playing without their starting middle linebacker, and the offense went 3 and out several times. Poor special teams lead to good field position. I think the D held their own given the horrible positions they were put in.

Mastered Monte's defense? Since when is winning by four considered mastering? I say you've mastered nothing if you can't beat a Crompton led team by more than a touchdown.

Griff was just dying to write something to take a shot at our D. Sad

Three picks in five games isn't cutting it -- be real.
Ignoring the facts does not make them go away.
The UT offense is not good -- but the defense hasn't been much help in the turnover dept.
I was shocked Saturday night, because the Vols' defensive plan for Florida was brilliant

Auburn had a good scheme coming into the game, but any look at the stats at halftime clearly demonstrates depth was the primary reason the Vols lost this game defensively.

Good article but I think it ignores one important point--there were a number of times we just flat out missed tackles. The thought that their running backs could handle our LBs (which happened), isn't really proof that we were out schemed--their guys were just better. That's not scheming, that's talent.

Under that thought process, Florida outschemed us by letting TT do all the work.

Can someone explain to me how he still has a job at KNS? In this day and age hacks are a dime a dozen.

You were just waiting for something like this so you could take a shot at Monte and show how up Chavis' ass you are.

So Griff wants to be like John Adams huh?

Malzahn did a very good job with Tennessee's D. However, the last time Tennessee lost containment on end arounds and reverses was 2007 UF.

Going to have to chalk this one up to the offense's inability to keep itself on the field for any more than 2ish minutes in the entire 1st Half. Malzahn had his guys prepared with a great gameplan. They had great blocking on the outside.

Losing Reveiz and having Walker injured and nowhere near 100% hurt this team greatly.

The way you master Monte's defense is letting Jonathan Crompton play qb.

EDIT: For the team Monte is coaching.

Sounds like it was a wasted trip to the Auburn locker room. Nothing insightful from that article.

I don't think anyone has ever mastered Monte's defense. It's not like the Tampa Two is a great mystery or anything considering almost all NFL teams run some version of it. To say that Malzahn mastered it is a joke.
