Jackson’s forte with his “4.6 or 4.7” speed has been his ability to chase and corral the opposing quarterback off the edge. Walker says from what he’s seen so far of Jackson, there’s little doubt he’ll make a solid contribution.

“Malik has been a good addition to our team,” added Walker. “I knew zero about him, but I figured coming from SC he had to be somewhat of a good player. He’s come out and shown that and he’s ready to contribute right now.”

USC Transfer Malik Jackson Ready to Contribute at Defensive End for Vols

FWIW, the article states that Jackson is 255 lbs. but he said recently that he's up to 270.

I would like to hear more about Malik's thoughts on the differences between USC and TN as far as practice and preparation are concerned.

This was a really big pickup for Dooley. Jackson will be a huge help to us this season.

For Duckfan and his ilk this article is a must read.

I was excited about getting him before the injuries....even more so now

Would love to hear more from Walker expanding on that last quote. I ran into Montori last night and wanted to ask him about his thoughts on the two staffs, but didn't have the time.

"I'm Gonna tell them what Oregon and Jeremiah are all about".

Hopefully he'll detail how Oregon ran for 300 yards down the 1st teams throat as he and other reserves sat on the sidelines.

Yah, I'm about 5'11" and 180 lbs. I'd have been head-butting him in the chest, and I don't predict that it would've ended well for me. Montori is a big boy.

I said, "You Montori Hughes?" He looked at me like, "Who the $!@# wants to know?!?!" All he said was, "Yeah."

I stuck out my hand and said something like, "Best of luck this season, we'll be cheering for you." Then he cracked a bit of a smile, and said, "Thanks." In general though, he looks pissed. :p

Hopefully he'll relish the opportunity to pummel your ducks in front of 100,000 people.

You left out that part where the ducks won't be able to put 11 players on the field because they'll be on the sidelines with IV's due to the Sun like temps....:birgits_giggle:

Maybe Blount will visit during this game since he's only about 3 hours away.

Or he could strike up a conversation with Wilcox about how his D gave up 31 rushing yds to the Ducks.

Malik has a great opportunity and his passion and heart will be on display very soon. If he can turn into a run stopper and develop an "Im gonna kill anyone that has the ball and let god sort em out" mentality then we will be in good shape. He could also raise his NFL stock 10 fold.

You read too much into my comment. I merely wrote that Malik should relish the opportunity he'll have to play (and therefore pummel), since apparently he didn't play last time around. No predictions were made - I simply said I hope he makes the most of it. Everyone knows you're favored in this game.

But if you're going to troll, at least brush up on your reading comp.

My favorite moment of the 2009 season. The BSU player taunts him after the game when he should have been showing sportsmanship. He instead received instant justice.

I've watched the YouTube vid probably 15 times and still think it's great. Broadening the fight was not his finest moment I must admit.

Still think highly of the guy and glad O gave him another chance late.

To put it into words it goes a little something like this..

Ha, ha, pow.

I still don't understand the outrage over "The Punch". I don't care if I'm on a football field or walking down the street, someone jumps into my face and cusses me he's getting punched. How anybody can be upset that something like that would happen in the heat of the moment after a hard fought, physical contest is beyond me.
