Make or Break : The Florida Game

Your right we had bigger problems than just that. Depth was a big problem. Conservative play calling was a problem. Halftime adjustments were a problem. Player mismatch issues not being addressed was a problem. Inconsistent execution by the players. There is no simple quick fix to all the opportunities the team had last year, but with the work they put in over the off season I expect to see better results. And as for any team beating us, "I've got to see THAT to believe it".

I don't buy the depth excuse either. The only team that had more depth last year who we lost to was Alabama. Certainly Florida and Arky didn't. I don't think OU did either.

Our play calling didn't take advantage of their lack of depth, it only exposed our lack of depth.

As far as coaching goes you have to think Butch realizes now the conservative calls with the lead will get you beat. Defensively we had some hiccups coaching wise but you have to think Shop will improve our defensive play calling. Hopefully no more rushing 3 on third and long or 4th down

We always seem to play better when were aggressive using trick plays going for it on 4th down etc. When we've played tight and conservative we haven't had our best showing.

I wouldn't entirely throw out the question of depth on Team 119, KB.

Yes, Bama had more depth than us, and yes, it showed toward the end of the game.

But then, our lack of depth showed late in the OK game as well. Not that Oklahoma had more than us, necessarily, only that we didn't have enough to prevent our front seven from being exhausted by the 4th Qtr...you remember the plays I'm talking about, where up to 4 different players (including Barnett) had hands on Baker Mayfield and could not bring him to the ground. They were juiced, because they played so many snaps without subs...because we lacked talented depth.

Our lack of depth in the box showed some in the Arkansas game as well, I think, though it's harder to tell there because we just played so poorly across the board even as early as the late 1st Qtr.

So no, depth wasn't a huge problem, but it certainly showed in a few key games. It, along with all those other little things that come together to give a team a loss, was a factor.

IF we lose, people who have never seen a grown man cry will get there chance that day. With that being said I think we roll by at least 2 TDs imo.

I'd say Tennessee beats FL pretty bad this year. Dispite the hype and noise surrounding this game, I say the Vols triumph in a beatdown!! GBO!!!

In my opinion it's not going to be a beat down. I think it's going to be a 3 to 7 point game that can go eather way. I just hope its in our favor. Go vols...

1 game at a time folks.

1 WIN at a time.

This IS our year and we're NOT going to lose to floriDUHHH!!!

So many tears will be shed at the end of that game that people will think it's raining.

Tears of heartbreak by Gator fans.

Tears of happiness by Tennessee fans.

There's no team in the country that can't be beaten and that includes floriDUHHH.

Gator week will get here fast enough so let us focus on the game in front of us just like our Team does.

Earning our respect 1 WIN at a time...VFL...GBO!!!

(3) Al Wilson has 3 caused fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries.

One of fumbles Al caused was down on the 1-yd line with Florida about to score-- that was one game saver. Deon Grant had the other game saver with that beautiful interception.

I feel the same way. UF will still field a very good defense. I think some fans think just because we have these high expectations, that that means other teams are just not that good. Bad thinking imo. UF is going to be a very tough game that will likely go down to the wire.
