i'm pretty sure its the crappy display of football the vols are putting on was more of a deterrent than the boos

This was the first game that I remember booing being such a big issue. With the lack of any significant achievement in a decade, I think fans have shown remarkable restraint. Losing to your biggest rival 4 straight times will do that at any top program in America.

I agree with this 100%

What would you have us do then, not go to the games? Yeah, I'm sure a Neyland stadium with 20,000 (or more) empty seats is great for recruiting. You want us to e-mail Hamilton? We've tried that, too. All you get are stock answers or told that you're not an expert. Call into the radio shows? You'll get cut off.

I didn't boo at the game, but I don't blame anyone who did one bit. The real fans of this program are frustrated and since most of us don't have booster money, we will do what is in our power to influence a change, just as the boosters use their money and pull to keep good 'ole boy Fulmer around. My message is this: keep Fulmer and underachieve and your boosters better be enough to drown out the boos.

those idiotic morons who were booing at the UAB/Fla games for Josh Nunes's decision not to come to Tennessee. I know travel distance was also mentioned, but as his father stated the booing is what really disturbed his son. You better beleave this booing is going to cost UT dearly with other recruits, but hey these dumb ass rednecks who constantly boo don't see that as an issue. They are either to stupid to see it or just don't give a darn; My guess is both. If these people had gun powder for brains they couldn't blow their nose.

Well stated, I just picked up a dead jay bird yesterday,
(literally, for real) guess what he was doing, yep trying to fly backwards!!

This is just stupid.

This is just stupid.

Well a couple of experts can't be 100% wrong or can they??? I great minds think alike, then could the same be said of lesser minds?

Yeah, as I have stated in other threads. Those Gator fans never booed Ron Zook once and look where they are.

What does it feel like to feel like a lizard???

If he caint take we did not need him anyways. What he should have seen is Phil patting some one on the back/slap on the butt. After they did something stupid. I bet he would have came to UT in a heartbeat.

The booing is this kid's easy scapegoat (along with travel difficulties) to get out of coming here. Let's face it, no one of any caliber is going to want to come to play football here if he has other options available.

Maybe we could send a bus load of people to Gators home games to boo. Maybe that would stem their ability to recruit and help us out in return. :p

Then why doesn't he just say he doesn't wanna come here? If he's using excuses, he's just gonna be a big poon when he starts playing like ish.

And we don't need that at Tennessee right about now.

Of all people, Dane Bradshaw just nailed this issue on the radio. To closely paraphrase: The people who come to the games have the right to cheer and the right to boo. Just because they boo doesn't make them bad fans or mean they are rooting against you.

I say let the kid go! If the kid can't handle the pressure, then he is a puss. this is the SEC. who cares if their feelings are hurt by booing. when your kid does something wrong, you don't give them a kiss and say "it's okay your an underachiever". besides the kids are getting (in a sense "paid") a free education to play football. Who do you think pays for those scholarships....revenue from things like tickets, merch and atheltic boosters. All you people that say we shouldn't boo...you are idiots. don't quit your day job at PETA or the ACLU.

Always liked that guy. Very level headed.

Dane speaks the truth. I don't think those fans would be sitting there if they didn't care about the program. Its a part of the game, deal with it.

I'm not going to read this entire thread, as I'm sure this has been stated ad nauseam, but the idea that a recruit is not coming to Tennessee because of the fans more so then the sloppy, uninspired play on the field is weak.

He wasn't impressed by what he saw on the any more field then the thousands of fans who left in the 3rd quarter. Though he's not going to come out and say that.

If you think it's bad when they boo, wait till it's a half empty stadium they see. That will be worse.

it's rare, but we agree 100% here. The booing excuse is the start of the death throes of the save Fulmer crowd.

From what I understand Jon Crompton was a top five rated qb coming out of high school. Now I hope his performance in the first three games is based on the new offense and not his abilities in the field. If Nunes is too chicken squat to come compete for a job at a nationally recognized program why would anyone want him here? Hopefully you understand football is a game where score is kept in the competition and the team with the most points wins. The job of the coaches in recruiting is to get the best players available onto campus. The secondary, and most important job, is to insure that those players have the heart to measure up to what is expected to become a Volunteer.

MERGE with all the other millions of ''don't boo'' threads. Booooooo for people who don't like booing. I'll gladly play and let them boo me if I suck.
