I was stationed a good deal while in the army at Fort Sill which is in Lawton, OK. When I was there, really the only thing I could think of was, "God get me the heck out of this place."

Lived there at the age of 8-9, about 150 feet from the fence of the base. I remember the same feeling. It was cool seeing and hearing the big guns, though!

I'm not playing this right, am I?

Did college footall start in 1945? Apparently while your boys were playing games ours followed their coach that served as a General in WW2.

I bet if you offered an Oklahoma Sooners fan a cup of coffee with a bar of soap in it they'd drink it.

Stupid rookies.

Soap in the coffee...Good one, Farva.

But in all seriousness, I'm looking forward to visiting Knoxville and experiencing Neyland. It's always been incredibly loud with our 85,000 fans at home -- so it'll be interesting to see 100k+. Good luck to you all; it should be a fun game.

My boss has worked in Iraq, Afghanistan, all over the US, and in other austere environments around the world.

Guess which state he said is worse than anywhere else he's ever been? Oklahoma.

North Dallas I am not at all butt hurt over anything I saw on this thread. The entire purpose of this thread has no bearing on the game Saturday! I don't deny chest pounding and maybe crowing a bit, but then this kind of thread lends itself to this kind of talk, doesn't it? Oklahoma has our fair share of idiots and I suspect Tennessee does as well. I admire this site and wish we had a reciprocal site. You guys seem to talk excellent football whereas most of the OU sites do not. I don't generally spend a lot of time on forums, but I am excited about coming to Knoxville this week and thought I would give your site a visit. It seems to me you took exception to my post more so than any other Tennessee fan. Maybe it's the Texas thing??

Nah...I'm in Texas. I know how ornery you Okie's get when your livestock turn you down. :)

Take a bunch of pictures of trees so you can amaze people back in OK.

It`s all in jest.
Come, set a spell and have some lemonade and or some Jack Daniels.
We will be friends when the bottle is empty.

Here are the lyrics to their "Fight Song" (these are actually in scripted on a large wall entering their stadium to take the elevators up to their Club Level...I laughed out loud seeing it last year)

Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner
Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner
Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner
Boomer Sooner, OK U!

Oklahoma, Oklahoma
Oklahoma, Oklahoma
Oklahoma, Oklahoma
Oklahoma, OK U!

Those lyrics almost make "Rammer Jammer" sound creative.
