Majors speaks his mind on Finebaum

LOL...Fulmer made a fool of himself on national TV disparaging Kiffin. Notice he hasn't been on a halftime show since then. He's also made comments like, "I believe we would have gotten that player" and "Things would have been different had I hired the Michigan offensive staff and gotten Mallett.

He's not as bitter as Majors but has shown plenty of bitterness.

One big difference between the program when each got fired: Majors left the program loaded. Phillip left it barren.

That's a fact only the dumbest S-O-B would argue

Who was the recruiting coordinator for Majors?

Who was the recruiting coordinator for Saban at LSU?

If you don't want to respond appropriately, that's your perogative. Just know you're going to get it handed to you(rather easily I might add) if you can't come up with anything better.

JOhnny left the team loaded and Phillip left it bare.

You're a fool. To compare Fulmer with DD is foolish. It was time for Fulmer to go and he was justifiably fired. But until DD does something to compare the 2 is foolish at best.
Johnny has a big problem with the truth a lot. I've heard him 1st hand bad mouth UT to a group of fans of another school. And there's so much more.

If you are going to give Fulmer credit for the talent left over when majors got fired, who are you going to blame for leaving the program empty when Fulmer was fired?

If you'll read my post I said he was justifiably fired. But to even attempt to compare DD's resume to Fulmers is foolish.

i agree on Majors' mouth. He badmouthed some important alumni during the summer of 1992 during a speech in Atlanta. Rightly so, Joe Johnson was upset and that was what put him on thin ice before the 1992 season.

I am not comparing Phillip to DD. Phillip had a talented, fully stocked roster when he got the job. Dooley got a woefully thin roster with very little talent.

This thread is about Majors. Sorry if you disagree with the facts present in the Dooley thread.

My point was Fulmer deserved a lot of credit for the talent on the team he took over. Fulmer was the "hot" recruiter nationally and remained so for several years after he became head coach. So it's stupid to try and compare DD to Fulmer.

I am just wondering what type of reasoning skills you have. It doesn't seem as though you have a great handle on context either. It's EXTREMELY appropriate to compare DD's resume when he got this job to Phillip's resume in 1992. Dooley's was better.

Whatever.

Whether you like it or not, Majors was the head coach in the late 80s and early 90s and HE was primarily responsible for recruiting UT's best players. Pickens, Harper, Cobb, Webb, Shuler, etc, were all recruited by Majors. Just because you are the recruiting coordinator doesn't mean you are doing all the recruiting.

You Fulmerites always want it both ways. By your standard, Rodney Garner was responsible for the great players UT signed in the mid 90s.

How could one possibly make a fool of themselves while disparaging Kiffin? That is an oxymoron.

Johnny never understood that someone asked the "what if" question. What if Johnny can't return? Heaven forbid the AD would have a plan if he couldn't. But Johnny took it wrong and felt betrayed and began to make it an issue. But Johnny overplayed his hand...no one wanted to listen to Johnny whine again especially not after two year of listening to him whine over not being the highest paid SEC coach. Johnny found out NO ONE is bigger than the program. Something Hamilton and Fulmer both forgot and something Pearl found out.

most luck to win NC: Colorado in 1990 getting a fifth down against Missouri to win game .....the refs should be in prison
from wikipedia
The Fifth Down Game was a college football game that included a play that the crew officiating the game permitted to occur in error. That play enabled the Colorado Buffaloes to defeat the Missouri Tigers by scoring a touchdown on the last play of their game on October 6, 1990. The ensuing controversy cast doubt on Colorado's claim to Division I-A's 1990 national championship, which it shares with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. It has been called one of the top memorable moments and blunders in college football history

Debatable. That's similar to stating bad credit is better than no credit which is not a true statement.

Majors began drinking too much and making a fool of himself at fundraisers. FACT

Majors quit recruiting and left it up to his staff. FACT

Majors was the most conservative coach in america. FACT

if Majors wrecked his car into yours while stone blind parapalegic drunk, he'd rather spend a decade blaming you for not getting out of his way in time then admit to any mistake on his part........and then decide you the traffic cop, and the bartender had planned it all....and call the paper to give the inside scoop about it......that's simply how he is.

The miracle td reception Nebraska had off the foot of another wr was lucky as hell too...at least when Stoerner fumbled the Vols had to drive the ball 45 yards to score...plus the refs totally blew the call when the Hogs snapped the ball over the punters head and he kicked it out of the end zone.....

I remember watching a UT vs LSU game in the early 90's at LSU and the Vols were applying the beat down early....got up 20-0 and then Johnny went ultra conservative.....it was as if the life was sucked out of the players at that point because they knew they could lay 50 or more on them.....and wanted to
