It fans the flames when the man Fulmer replaced, Johnny Majors, seems to be enjoying the meltdown.
Majors, the third-winningest coach in UT history, was fired during the 1992 season. He was less than two years removed from back-to-back SEC titles and had missed the first three games that season while recovering from heart surgery. Fulmer had gone 3-0 in the interim. When the Vols dropped three straight games after Majors returned, UT forced a change.

Obviously JM is not "above" making such comparisons, unless he has to actually say, "In comparison..." Enough of this JM, you got a bum's rush I agree, but?????

One thing which some fans may fail to consider, or remember is Majors was not replaced for losing games...he was replaced because he DID acquire the belief that "he was above all this". That single thought is quite possibly the main reason he started to lose games, and respect...The eternal question which has come to the surface since is..., "Was it a chemically induced delusion that he was above or better than all of this; or was it something else(like heart surgery) which created the skewed version of reality?" Regardless of the answer to that question....those who are suffering as the result, are "dressed in Big Orange". Ladies and gentlemen...your rivals are now laughing at you,...like you have laughed at them when their coaches got caught missing around with their secretaries, visiting the strip joints, hightailing it out of town on the next plane to Texas, beating up on frat boys, etc. :salute:
