Major Shout Out To Mays

I love leaders by example. It's easy to holler and scream but those who tough it out and still try to go on get my vote.

Cooper Mays had a huge painful limp AND an injured hand but refused to leave the field.

There is a leader for you.
The kid gave his all and he is a warrior but at some point you gotta get him out the game. We had 2 drives stall out as soon as he got reinjured bc we couldnt get a decent snap on 3rd down. Once they noticed he was hurt they simply put a NT in front of him to make it that much harder for him.

Barron was getting around slow as well. Played through what looked like a hamstring pull

Sid any of you guys watch Carvin ? Wtf a guy giving his all is thr last person you all should be b1tching about. I don't mean to single you out either... Think abouy it Carvin is not a center, his play is mediocre. The coaches think and and injured Cooper is better than a healthy Carvin and its damn sure true.

1st off I never b1tched. I acknowledged that he gave his all. Still doesnt change the fact that bc of his injured hand he had 2 bad snaps at 2 crucial times of the game. One of those bad snaps got Hooker sent to the damn tent. Once they put a NT in front of him the pressure started coming right into Hookers lap & the snaps never gave the plays a chance. That aint a knock on Cooper he hurt. Idgaf how bad you thought Carvin was playing its still better then playing with 4 olineman against a top teir SEC dline. Cooper could barley walk to the ball let alone snap it, protect himself & the QB. Im ALL for a guy fighting for his team & refusing to quit on his guys. But once that guy becomes a liability he is hurting the team more then helping. The moment that he couldnt hustle to the los for the next play was when he should have come out the game.

What you don't understand is that OUR Coaching staff thinks a liability is better than a healthy Carvin playing the same position. Their is truth in that because Carvin is not a center. Now, I will agree we need to find someone else at Center if Mays can't go. Carvin isn't good in the middle

LOL... that's not the decision. Carvin is a OG. But the calculation is that he's the 2nd best C on the team and it is better to put him at C and someone else at LG than to put one of the backups at C.

It isn't that they think a hurt Mays is better than a healthy Carvin. They think that a hurt Mays is better than anyone else they can bring in off the bench to play C or OG.

Carvin stepping in to play out of position... isn't the guy you take shots at either. In fact, NONE of them deserve to be criticized. They were playing against a D that held Bama to 333 total yards while producing over 400 yds themselves under less than ideal circumstances.

The O produced the most yards and most yards per play given up by UF this season. Next highest was FAU with 70 yards less playing against a lot of UF's back ups.

There is a lot to build on here... and none of these guys are worthy of condemnation and especially not for lacking heart or effort.

Carvin isn’t a center

Yes, he had a painful limp in the second half.. He also had a painful limp his senior year at Catholic. In the first half, Cooper rolled 2 snaps back on the ground back to Hooker before he started limping. Both times it caused Hooker to take a sack.… Coop is just beat up right now.

That's a joke for you. In case you haven't noticed, we run the hurry up/no huddle. Mays limping around like a wounded Civil War solider, hobbling on national television to the point that it's called out by the garbage commentary guys is disgusting. The offense is designed to hurry up to the line after the play, God knows how much time he wasted holding things up and it further makes Heupel look incompetent by not yanking him. Even that one Gator in the pile, you could just tell he looked uneasy in that scene. I'm surprised he wasn't carted from the field.

If you’re hurting to the point where you’re having wild gyrations and flailing histrionics, to the point where viewers are asking themselves “is this dude gonna hyperventilate and pass out,” then you need to leave the game. At some point it crosses from “he sure is a tough football player” to “please pull this guy and send him immediately to the nearest trauma unit for emergency surgery on whatever it is making him behave like this!”

I also think it’s incumbent upon the refs to get the guy medical attention when they see a guy stumbling around like he just had half a foot sawed off.

“Painful limp?” That was more of a “acid is slowly melting my leg to the bone” limp.
