Magic close to signing CJ Watson

Saw this over on an Orlando Magic forum. They are one of the few NBA teams I enjoy watching. I'd love to see Watson go there.

Golden State would have 7 days to match as Watson is a RFA.

Magic Close to Signing C.J. Watson -- NBA FanHouse
That's a no lose situation for CJ. He's now reached the level where he's getting guaranteed money multi year deals. That's where every player tries to get.

At least the Magic are a legit team compared to the other joke of a franchise.
Golden State has as much good young talent as 90% of the NBA. I can't wait to read this post when you're explaining how 6 time NBA All Star Anthony Randolph is a joke.

Outside of Randolph and Ellis do they have anyone though? I don't seem to remember anyone outside of that. Then again, I don't watch much basketball on the west coast. A 29-53 record doesn't scream much to me though when they're in the same division as the Clippers and Kings though.

I would love to see CJ in a Magic uni, although I would assume he'd be brought on to be Jameer's back-up.

Got 2 questions for you Hat: 1. Do you see the Warriors matching their offer? 2. With Randolph's emergence, what do you think Brandon Wright's role will be?

Andres Biedrins is better than the vast majority of centers in the NBA. Stephen Jackson still has multiple good years left. 29-53 is where you're going to finish when you have so many injuries that you spent most of the last month of the season suiting up injured guys just to get to the league mandated 8 players in uniform.

1. Doubt it. They've got the guys they received in the Crawford trade and seem hellbent to play Ellis at the pont.
2. Wright has to play well this season or he's going to get buried on the bench.

He'd definitely be Jameer's backup, but I'd expect him to see significant minutes. Jameer has had some trouble with injuries as well. I've been checking some of the Magic forums and they all seem to love CJ. Experienced, but still with room to grow.

And I'm sure even the most casual NBA fan knows...the Magic love to shoot the 3-ball!!!

I'm definetly not sold on Randolph.
