Sounds like words to the reporters. I will be shocked if he comes back. He already has a master's degree and an extra year wouldn't improve his stock too much. And getting older means the second contract is that much further away and harder to get.

He has battled through so much in his time here, and nobody would fault or second guess him leaving for a shot in the NFL. However, if your stock is a late round (at best) selection and possibly undrafted FA, wouldn't you be inclined take another look at coming back and trying to put a year's worth of film out there showing the league that you are back and healthy?

Well now there's this and he comes out and says in this article that he will not be dropping any hints publicly. Who knows? Sounds like it could just be a rumor.

When his hip kept him out that long, I think many of us were concerned his draft stock would be low. Based off how many injuries he has had and this is anothet big one. I have a feeling he would benefit from a healthy 2016 campaign in college if granted the eligibility waiver.

6th year? No way. I've heard of 5 year plans, but not 6. Who wouldn't want to be 25 playing against 18 year olds.

NOt sure he will be invited to an NFL team camp. Missed several games in his 5 year career. Maybe he can get healthy before the U.T. Pro Day and be a free agent like A. Foster did and make a team that way.
I know Pittsburgh would like to have him at a cheap price and develope him if he can stay healthy.

I have heard of players getting a 6th year before. It is rare but it happens. Depends also if bUTch really wants him here or if as a staff they have moved on.

It's not really a "plan". Lot of hardship involved.

In fact, Jason White, the Oklahoma Heisman Q.B. was on the team from 1999 - 2004, which is 6 years. So, it is possible to get a 6th year. Google Jason White

I can see this. He is a smart player and leader. I think he would be a great coach.

Really? Steelers want him? That be cool. I figures he could be a good fit in new England? Mayo could take him under his wings. Ps I despise the pats lol
