Anyone going to give this a shot?

Looks pretty decent, I was thinking of trading some games for it to give me something to do until NHL comes out.

I might pick it up used on the cheap.

I'll be occupying myself with Dead Rising 2 and Reach.

used is the way to go, but im pretty worn out with what i've got, i'll likely trade it back for NHL. Sucks but there is nowhere to rent games up here anymore

I enjoyed the demo. I really like the setting and the overall atmosphere. I'll pick it up some time in the future, it should drop in price pretty quickly.

Everything I've read has the game being really short, there's also zero side-missions. It does have pretty good graphics and solid gameplay. Sounds like a good rental/cheap purchase.

I'd bet the price will drop quickly on this one, due to the reported shortness and lack of replay potential, definately plan on grabbing a copy down the road, though.

Yeah I'll pick this one up when it's around $20. I'll be picking up Reach next month and likely New Vegas as well so I can certainly wait.

It's definitely not a brand new buy.

Just beat it today. I beat it in one sitting. Granted, that sitting was all day, but still. The game was good and the story was great, just waaay too short.

Also, since a lot of the clothing and cars are DLC and Pre-order content, there's not a lot of variety in those two areas.

Once you beat the game, though, you cannot do a free roam type thing like you could in GTA. This isn't a horrible thing, but with a city that is so well developed and beautifully made they should allow free roam.

All in all, I enjoyed the game, but after I beat it I was kind of like "well, I guess I'll just go ahead and take it back now..." and that's not what I look for in a game.

Bought this last week and I've been playing it on and off. Great game. They went for a linear game experience in an open world and I'm fine with that. Empire Bay is one of the best open worlds I've seen, at times everything comes together and really clicks. Soundtrack is pretty entertaining as well. So far the missions have been nice, I don't necessarily mind all the driving but I can understand the complaints. The gameplay is pretty solid, mostly shooting from cover but it's pretty tight, the melee combat system is pretty nice as well. Good game though. You can get it dirt cheap.

I can't get past the big fight in chapter 6 (when they are in jail)
I assume you're talking about the fight with O'Neil? Just hold down A for dodge and counter with B whenever he throws a punch. He'll gradually fatigue and hit him with some light punch combos. You won't land big punches on him so don't waste your time throwing them. You knock him down once or twice and you get a final cutscene.
